Finished Carnivale. I can't get enough of this great show. This is the third time I've seen it all the way through and I want more! Damn you HBO, damn you for cancelling it. Really? BTAS was my favorite cartoon when I was a kid. When the entire series was released on DVD last summer, I grabbed it opening day! :D

Nothing seems to compare to it nowadays. The other Batman cartoons (The Batman was terrible and didn't follow source material all that well) don't even come close, although Brave and the Bold is awesome in a campy 1960's kinda way and I can't wait for them to be released on DVD too!

Public Enemies is great and features the classic DCAU voices of Conroy, Daly and Brown. The animation is clean and the story is pretty awesome! Crisis features an entirely new cast of voices that just...work. Story and animation are also very cool and James Woods is amazing as Owlman! I highly recommend you see these as soon as you can! :cool:

I felt the same way with William Baldwin's work as Batman, but it kind of just grows on you once you watch the movie a few times. Although I agree that Harmon is no Tom Daly, just as Baldwin is no Kevin Conroy. :D

It's not that he didn't do a good job. Kent had the sound of authority. But if I walked into a room and heard that voice, I'd be excited to watch N.C.I.S. and would then get dissapointed that it was JC:COTE instead. If I heard Daly, I'd know it was JL. Just certain voices for me are their main characters. I caught myself a couple times calling Kent Gibbs.

I agree that the actors did well with the voice work in this film, but it wasn't the same for me, not having the same DCUA voices I was used to growing up.

I kinda like how they change up the voices like this. Also, being unfamiliar with the actors and their other roles, I had no moments of "I hear X character instead of Batman". Unlike when I watch Batman the Brave and the Bold, when if I think about it, all I can hear is Oswald from the Drew Carey Show.

Even though they do change up the voices, DC has an amazing voice director, Mrs. Andrea Romano, and she certainly knows how to cast good talent in these roles. Although I'd prefer the classic DCAU voices, DC has yet to disappoint with their chosen cast from film to film.

"Nothing to Fear" is a great episode, Scarecrow is so great! He was one of the few characters that I still liked when they did the revamp episodes in the late '90's. :cool:

Yeah I actually liked Scarecrow's look better in those later episodes - way more menacing.

That's too bad about Crazies...I was moderately looking forward to it. Shit.

James Woods is pretty funny. Did you ever watch that show called "Shark?" He had some good moments in that one. And the Vampires movie, he was awesome.
