I am taking a look at my DVD shelf right now...

You could try (sorry I am not sure what else you have seen) HBO's Rome or Deadwood...both are spectacular in my opinion.

You probably have seen these, but I recommend them to everyone: X-Files, Buffy, Angel.

I have been getting into Smallville as of late and am into Season 2 at the moment. I am liking it a lot. I still can't see it being better than Buffy (as per the recent thread) but it is enjoyable - so far.

EDIT: HBO's Carnivale is also a sweet ride. As with Rome and Deadwood, they ended too soon IMO.

Finished watching Torchwood: Children of Earth last night. I had only seen a couple of episodes of the main series, but had heard a lot of good buzz about this. I wasn't disappointed. Really good story, and very emotionally involved sometimes, given the subject matter.

I just liked it becuase it took an relitivly typical story (boy meets girl) and telling it in a very interesting way, by expalining his life story in chance way of answering the questions on the game show. I don't know, not the greatest movie of all time, but much better than I expected.

Just took in The new Star Trek movie last night. Gotta say very impressed with how cool this movie was.

One issue though:

They went so far to create a new reboot, but the end result was exactly the same as the origonal series. Kirk was Captian, Spock was 1st officer...etc, etc. The Romulans (sp?) created a big time shift that should have had more impact on the universe as a whole, right? Ah well, still fun to watch.

I'll admit I checked it out because of all the hype as well. Watched a few episodes and then forced myself to watch a few more to see if I could get into the show or not and I didn't. Found it to be way to EMO for my taste and found it to be more of a lame soft core porno about screwing vampires.

Just finished watching Seasons One & Two of Californication thou and that show is just awesome! Cant wait for reason 3 to start in September.

I watched "Five across the eyes" the other night. Lame, the girls are screaming during the entire movie, it's annoying as hell.

I didn't like this remake. The first half was fantastic, with the story of the girls. Once movie got to house, it was a real let down, especially if you compare it to the original. Monica Potter pulled it off okay, but I think Tony Goldwyn was misdirected. That little bit at the end with the kitchen appliance was completely out of place and unnecessary.

I have been watching the HeMan Animated series from 2001/2002 on DVD. I loved this show. So well done. IMO it was much better than the Transformers Armada that was on at the same time...

The scene was cool and all, but to me it felt out place. None of the violence in the film was really glorified. Which is why the first half was so good. If the movie had been like Saw or Hostel, then the scene would have felt right. A horror film has to set a tone, or provide a gradiation.

Jessica Stroup is Hot. Jeannie Garth is hot. The undecover drug agent was Hot (and is on Melrose Place now). Jessica Stroup is Hot.

Its not as good as Gossip Girl and fails at the post modern self awareness that the O.C had. But the story lines move along in 2 to 4 episode cycle which makes it easy to watch and consistently gratifying. Jessica Stroup is Hot and Bipolar, so she's not out of my league.
