Re: Fun Publications Response to Suspicious Credit Card Activity

In a bit of a freak out panic, I went to the bank and checked my credit cards purchase history yesterday.

Nothing out of the ordinary, no fraudulent charges, everything was A-ok!

Just wondering if anyone around here actually got hit after ordering from the club?

Yes. At least one person, as seen in this thread. That thread also has a summary of what is believed to have happened and what to look for.

FunPub's response is shockingly similar to Michael Bay's "it's not my fault, it's yours and your crappy choices" non-apology.

There are many well-worded and level-headed responses at TFW indicating that while nobody blames FunPub for the fraud, their responses to it are continuing to erode goodwill.

Re: Fun Publications Response to Suspicious Credit Card Activity

I was hit with a $100 charge a day after signing up for the club.

I never had the $1 charges to itunes or google like others had, instead someone charged $97 AUD to EVENT Parmata (cinema). What a long way for me to go just to see a movie........

Frankly, I'm extremely disappointed in the manner that the club has handled things. From what I've read, the owner seems like a fan and a nice enough guy, but so far my impression is that he's far from being a good business man.

While I don't blame them for the actions of the criminals, I can't however say that they shouldn't share partial blame. Fact is, they are a business and as such it was their business decision to go with the CC processing company that might have been compromised. It was also their decision to wait for so long before putting a warning out and not emailing their client list which could have prevented some from getting charged.
