WIP Better Bruticus Appendages
Having seen what Fan's Project did with Superion and finally getting my hands on ROTF Bruticus this week, I decided to see what I could do to improve him. With no little to no skills and info gathered from this thread http://www.cybertron.ca/boards/showt...ransformations , I set out to see what I could do and here are the results so far. Comments and suggestions welcome.
I made his forearms from parts from a Gundam figure I found at Value Village. His fists are from, I think, a power rangers zord, another VV find. Nothing in the forearms are really attached yet, just jammed into place with tissue while I figure out how to proceed. His feet are just a custom transformation of the limbs with the extra energon limbs insertied into the figure's fists to give the feet some bulk.

Re: WIP Better Bruticus Appendages
looking good SSP. good idea for the feet, brutemax does have a tendoncy to fall forward doesn't he.
I have yet to start on his forearms, I've worked on brutes wrists and chest shield. I'm starting to design his ankles and feet now, those are tough, lol.
http://www.cybertron.ca/boards/showt...t=17116&page=2 here is what I've done so far, i don't know if im going to use gundam, bionical or custom cut vinal for the feet and forearms. what to do what to do. what type of hands did you use?

Re: WIP Better Bruticus Appendages
Actually I don't have that many problems with bruticus falling over. My energon appendages fit really tight so I don't have issues there. As for the fists, I'm on the constant look out for new ones. It kind of hard because I don't want to canabalize any of my figures, so I'm limited to what I can find at value village. I'm on the look out for a junker alternator, but I don't think that's likely. Their fists and parts seem like they're about the right size. The forearms seem like they're the most important part for the look. I'm not 100% happy with what I have right now, and I'm thinking about buying some styrene to try and scratch build something. Unfortunately, with the announcement of the Fansproject appendage kit, I'm weighing my options right now. I don't want to spend $20-$30 on supplies when $50 will probably buy me something that's going to be perfect.
As for what you're doing. It's starting to shape up pretty good. Small suggestion. If you're looking for parts, you might try to find some power ranger stuff. Their parts seem like they could be useful.

Re: WIP Better Bruticus Appendages
i like the proportions.what will you do with the extra parts when they're not combined?in a way this kinda reminds me of the way pat lee used to draw tf's with huge bodies yet football sized heads.this is turning out sweet!!

Fantastic! Those arms go really well with the rest of the 'bot'. What do you have in mind for a paint scheme?

Actually, I stopped working on them when I found out about the fansproject ones. It would have probably been some sort of flat gray.

Well, it's really not that hard to do the arms the way I have theme there. I'm just copying what the Superion add-on kit does to the Superion figure. You just need to transform them the same way I did to start. Then you need to find some robot fist, nothing smaller than a ultra class size. Next you need to find something to bulk up the forearms. I got mine from a gundam model kit that I found at Value Village, but you can use anything that looks right. If you have a junker Ultra Onslaught, I think his arms are the right size. I was considering using those to replace the ones I have in the pictures, before I abandoned the project.
The feet are just an alternate transtormation using both sets of energon limbs to bulk up the feet.
You can check out what this guy did on youtube for bruticus and superion if you want to get some more ideas.
