Is Henkei Prowl taller than Universe Prowl??? From tat photo, Henkei Prowl seems taller to me. I am glad that I sold off my US collection for these Japanese Henkei! Now I just can't wait to see the G1 color Henkei Ultras, Henkei Skywarp and Henkei Thundercracker!!
Henkei all the way here too, it worths the price. I kind of agree with you. If money is an issue to anyone, choose the Henkei line and skip the US version line. The quality/price for US Hasbro's classic/universe is cheap, which is better for kids. Henkei is more for collecters like everyone here. However, if the figure doesn't exist in Japanese version like the popular SDCC Nemesis Prime, Ultra Magnus, definitely should pick them up too. Yes, Henkei Prowl absolutely is taller than US version Prowl from that photo. If you have both, Henkei Prowl has a way better paint job. If you are a Prowl's fan, I suggest you choose the Henkei over the US version that has crappy paint job

Re: Henkei vs Hasbro Classics Comparison pics

Since I missed out on most of the Classics 1.0, I picked up many of the Henkei versions from a comic store simply because they were there and available. The Hasbro ones I did get were Jetfire and Grimlock and I like them better anyway. Astrotrain, I figure I'll get both (one IDW version, one cartoon version).

As for Universe / Classics 2.0, there hasn't been anything where I've preferred the Henkei version so I've gone Hasbro all the way. Honestly, I love Hasbro Powerglide, even though it's mostly grayish white, better than the red one. But for some reason I found I had to have Henkei Optimus Prime because the Hasbro one was too garish (go figure!).

I'm glad both versions are now coming out near the same time though. So I can see what each one will look like before buying!

Wow, I didn't think there was that much of a difference between the two sets. I'm re-orienting several choices towards Henkei for sure.

Re: Henkei vs Hasbro Classics Comparison pics

While there are definitely some Henkei's that I prefer, overall I'd say Hasbro did a lot right with the updated paint on the figures. Overall a nicer and modern feel to the classic characters.
