AXH Custom thread

So finally I have decided to do some customs on Transformers. Here is my first custom from Universe Acid Storm into Classic Sunstorm. I really love Sunstorm, that is how I chose my very 1st custom. The color is basically white, copper and pearl yellow. I paint the stripes with white and red on the wings. Made some custom lables on the wings and head. It isn't too hard to repaint a figure, but taking off the pins are pain in the butt. I dont' have a SLR, so can't do any good quality photos, I have lots of photos that I liked, but I am only allow to post 15 here. Still... I hope you guys enjoy it

How did you go about repainting the nose cone? I picked up a couple of extra Acid Storms and plan on repainting them as Skywarp and Thundercracker. These will be my first attempts at TF repainting.

That's really great. Almost looks like a metallic quality to the paint like on the old G1 seekers. What types of paint did you use?

Ohhhhhh, my goodness! You quit selling tf and now into custom tf?! I have to say this is one of the best deluxe Sunstorm repaint I have ever seen so far from the ones I found on the interent! Gives me the feel of G1, along with Classic/Henkei. I love the nicely flow out paint on the pearl yellow. The wing written with Sunstorm on it also looks cool! Good job and keep it up!

Sounds very simple, but it may be tough for many people. First, take the whole figure apart then repaint all the parts. You can paint it without taking it apart if you have an airbrush. I took mines apart test painting it with a spray gun, and it works very well still. I transform Sunstorm for more than 10 times, didn't get any chip, only on one area on the hand that I didn't clear coat. I test fitted everything before I clear coat. I chipped a few places when test fitting, so ended up repainted some parts. I was going to do some shadowing, but then changed my mind. I think it is better to leave it more "toy looking" with the other Henkei/Classic jets. There are lots of work to be done. I am going to put wax on the figure later to prevent even more from chipping.

I have six layers of paint on the figure. White base coat, 2 yellow coats, 1 pearl coat, and 1 clear coat. This is called "Tri-coat". But I don't recommand anyone doing this unless you know how to paint Tri-coat. So maybe you can use other source of yellow. I used PPG automotive paint. The figure looks very sparkling if you see the real thing, but then I don't have good lighting or a good camera.

Awesome job! It has a die-cast look to it. That is a VERY nice custom paint job on your Sunstorm! Looks flawless! Looking forward to see more of your custom paint job man =)
