local calgary meetup

hi my name is chans formers aka otis and i was wondering if any members in the local calgary area would be interested in a meet up sometime.it could be a great chance to put faces to names,do some bot or parts trading ,etc.or just to find others who share the passion for cybertronians.i know it may start out pretty small but hopefully it may even turn into a yearly event,kind of a filler while waiting for tfcon to come!!!:D how many calgarians and surrounding area folk would be interested in a get together?(who knows,if the group trying to start in edmonton goes well too we just may have another "battle of alberta" going down!!!)

i think depending on how much interest and how many of us "calgarians there actually are we could start out just meeting at a tim hortons or something like that and build on it from there.hopefully it grows to the point where we actually need to rent out a venue,etc.plus,i know im not the only one with parts/doubles that need a good home instead of collecting dust in a closet bin.we could do trades,contests,or just generally reminice on all things bots wise.

I also wouldn't be joining if there was alcohol involved. But thats just a personal choice of mine. I can't stand the bar scene, or drunk people.

Here's an idea to add to the BBQ suggestion... I'm not sure how do-able it might be, but what would it cost to rent a projector/screen/etc. and have an outdoor viewing of the movie?

well let you know!i dont know if a meet up at a actual "convention"would work too well cause if everyone else is like me i prefer to concentrate on all the eye candy and searching the vendors for wanted items.however after a show could be a good possibility to meet up. us calgarians are still trying to figure it all out in the mean time.(btw,awesome list you posted for upcoming events!!!!)
