View Full Version : Has Legacy Breakdown Come and Gone?

I honestly don?t understand how to navigate Hasbro?s distribution patterns anymore. I missed the preorders for Legacy Breakdown, and I?ve never seen him on shelves anywhere although his wave mates have apparently been released. Mass retail in my area is bone dry on any recent TF releases which makes gauging the current market difficult. Have I missed the boat on completing Menasor or is there hope I might be able to grab him online or in stores without resorting to aftermarket scalpers?

Looks like it's sold out everywhere. Maybe ask some of the independent stores if they are getting a Restock

I dont know in which region you are, but retails (Walmart) in my area are still stuck at Legacy wave 1 and I believe it’s similar all over the country. Maybe there is still hopes the other waves will pop up eventually, but we’re basically 4 waves behind now. As for online hobby stores, he’s pretty much sold out everywhere, so yeah, its not looking good. I personally haven’t received my preorder yet and it’s starting to get me nervous

Legacy has been rough. As others have noted, WM has been stuck on Legacy Wave 1 forever. Recently Deluxe Wave 3 showed up, and wave 2 core showed up once, but nothing else for any other size outside of wave 1.

At this point it seems it might make a brief appearance at WM but more likely it will be independent stores or Winners/discount chains.

So these are from US sites and they are pre-orders for this April. Hopefully that means there is some more stock coming for other sites.

I've dealt with Entertainment Earth one time and it was an okay experience. I have no experience with ChosenPrime. I usually pick USPS with tracking and I avoid DHL shipping as they charge what they call customs fee but really it's a brokerage fee that doesn't have Canadian customs paperwork on the package. Whatever you chose, I hope that you find that figure. Good luck!

Stay patient. Wave 4 has hardly started trickling out. Some GS locations are getting them out to the shelf.

I saw a single copy at the GameStop in Kingston back in January

Didn’t take it cause of a paint QA on his chest, but in hindsight I probably should have

The FOMO is real when completing an expensive combiner is on the line.

GS already got its breakdown shipment, it was in-store, and is now sold out. I doubt they?ll get more.

Got mine from Amazon.ca in early March but the box was messed up. Have been looking since then for better box but looks I am one of the lucky ones at this point.

I got my breakdown from a3u on January 4. Good luck on finding one now, almost April now.

Canadian distribution is wack, it really is. I would say no, he has not come and gone since both Toysrus and Walmart, Canada's biggest toy sellers, have not sold him yet. So there are boxes with this figure in them out there for canadians, that is 100% certain.

BUT

Unlike other yearly lines, the SKU number did not reset for Legacy Evolution. They are under the same wave assortment as the infamous wave 1 from 2022 which stayed on shelves for a year. That's why sites like TFW2005 call that Legacy wave 4 instead of evolution wave 1. So that means that it has a chance of being skipped just like any other later wave. The toys will still be out there, but they'll be passed on to a liquidator, or be part of some warehouse sale, and neither of those scenarios will necessarily happen in Canada.

So it's basically the same odds of getting this toy as any other whose wave you didn't see in stores at the correct time (like deluxe Dead End, Voyager Junkheap or Core class Bomburst).

Boom Liquidations will maybe come to the rescue sometimes next year.

Got mine as a gamestop preorder, usually weeks or even months before I see them on Walmart shelves, if at all.

Since right before the apocalypse, I've stopped counting on figures to show up in retail anymore. I just pre-order from one of our site sponsors. Prices are more or less the same. A3U even has a loyalty point program. I saved up my points and was able to reduce the price of my preorder for Snarl to $2.23. They're not the quickest, but I've always gotten my stuff.

If there is any hope, it’s Walmart. They never got that wave so there is a chance they still may.

Thanks everyone! I really appreciate the feedback, although it's disappointing and depressing. I missed the original Breakdown pre-order because I was busy the week it was announced, and by the time I got to it, they were all sold out, and I guess I missed when it was on Amazon.

I've put in a pre-order with Entertainment Earth, but I'm not optimistic that it will be fulfilled.

Really getting in the mindset that collecting Transformers isn't worth it anymore. If you can even pre-order before the figure sells out at the inflated costs these toys go for these days, there's still a good chance it's going to break within a few months, start to discolor, or who knows what. My confidence in this brand is waning.

What's shipping set you back on that?

Too much
Total was about $67 cad with shipping.
I didn't want to miss out on Breakdown as I already had the 4 others.
