I placed a few orders with Outrun previously, customer service is top notch and always quick to respond to any questions. Chris got me my Kingdom Blaster a few weeks ago.

Also I had a last minute change on a package that was already boxed up and sealed and Chris didn't hesitate to swap a figure when he didn't have too.

Do you offer standard shipping?

We don't have a flat rate at the moment, but you can either get free shipping on any order over $100, pay the expedited rate to get your items as they come in, or use our Pile of Loot to bundle your orders together until you have enough for Free Shipping ($100), Hope that helps, but I see from below there are some server issues, so thank you for bringing this up! Will be investigating next week.

We've only been getting the mixed cases and it seems like the other full cases of Blasters aren't coming until August, so we've put in a massive additional order of the mixed cases so we can try and have them available sooner for those who want them. Our distributor still says March for those, but we've bumped the expectancy to April in case there are delays. Hope that helps!

We have about 32 mixed boxes of the Blaster and Tigatron figures set to ship to us in April from our main distributor. They had said March, but given the time left in the month we estimated April. That will take care of all the backorders we have currently for Blaster, so you'll be totally set! Attached a screenshot from my distributor so hopefully they stick to it, haha. Appreciate your patience on these and look forward to getting it sent your way!

Is legacy still coming in July or you guys getting it quicker considering they are popping up retail wise everywhere now?

We are still waiting for ours, hopefully will be getting them in sooner. They come at different times for different stores, for instance we got Fennec Shand and Ahsoka Black Series before anyone else, it just seems to be a total crapshoot. We don't have any cancellation or restocking fees, so if you do see it elsewhere and want to grab it, no hard feelings on this end. Toysnowman is a great store too, so you'll be well taken care of.

If anyone is interested in grabbing the Masterpiece Edition MP-56 Trailbreaker let me know as we just got solicitation for it! Wasn't sure the interest in this one in particular.

Hey everyone,

So we received this message today from our distributors:

"Unfortunately, we're sorry to report that the manufacturer has notified us that we will not be receiving any additional shipments of the Transformers War for Cybertron Kingdom Voyager Blaster (Item HSF5680) you ordered, because they have discontinued production of this item. No additional information was provided to us by the manufacturer as to why this occurred. Sadly, that means we will not be able to ship it to you and have cancelled it from your order. We apologize for any inconvenience this causes."

So here is what we're able to offer! We've gone ahead and placed an order for enough Legacy Voyager Blasters to fully replace any Kingdom Voyager ones that were purchased. Anyone who is fine with this replacement, just let me know and I'll note your account.

We have also secured some Kingdom Voyager Blasters from another local store. For those who absolutely want to have this version of the product, please let me know. This will be a first come first serve situation as we won't have enough to fulfill all of the orders.

If you cannot get/do not want one of these replacements, we of course are going to offer you a full refund on your product. We truly apologize and hope you can see that we're attempting to fix this as best we can. We expect these products to arrive within the next week/week and a half and should be able to start shipping them out immediately afterward.

No additional information was provided to us by the manufacturer as to why this occurred.
If I had to guess it would be because the Legacy and Kingdom versions are exactly the same but with different packaging.

For sure, sorry it's a bit confusing on how it's laid out. So the free shipping is based on the subtotal, and the taxes are applied to the subtotal, so what happens is:

143.97 - Subtotal
Discount - $21.59
New subtotal - $122.38 (under the $124.99 free shipping threshold now)
Taxes
Total

So the free shipping trigger is reading the subtotal AFTER the discount, it just doesn't add a new line showing the new subtotal after the discount. It also doesn't change the original subtotal, because that would be even more confusing because the rest of the numbers then wouldn't make sense.

In my last chat with him he's had my junkheaps in my loot over a month ago and I been waiting for them to be combined with another order for 3 weeks. The sludge he was expecting a batch in September and a 2nd order in November (discussed in July). Not sure why it's off the site instead of saying out of stock though.

He posted something earlier in the week the store will be closed for about a week while he recovers from a health related issue. Here is the link for more details:

I haven't had any issues with Outrun.

Opening retail in any environment is challenging.

Opening toy retail is pure heroism.

My family has been in retail for decades, it definitely helps built character working in that space, but it can get really tough.

I've bought with another board member from Outrun before. I hope he can fulfill everybody's orders and refunds.

Chris, we want you to get healthy and I feel everyone here wants you to succeed. The community would rather give small retailers like you the business instead of the Walmarts, Amazons and Toys R Us. They just need communication.

It's a private group, not everyone can see that link.

He's not running off with the money, but making it right for those with outstanding orders.

He sent an email offering to refund everyone, or offer 20% additional credit if you want to buy any of the rest of his inventory once the website is back and running.

I'm pretty saddened to hear the business closing so soon, but health first, money comes and goes, health implications are permanent.

Got the same nonsense. Never paid cash so not worried about that. Problem for me is I don't know if any of the stuff I ordered months ago ever came in so like everyone else just have to wait for him to sift through all the emails I'm sure he's been bombarded with and look for an alternative for all that.

Even in the worst of it, it seems to me like he's really trying to make sure everyone is taken care of. good guy right there.


That all said, if you have an outstanding order and the worst happens (aka bankruptcy which results in you not getting a refund) then if you paid for the order with a credit card, remember to contact your credit card company as they can offer e-commerce protections.

Well this is sad news. I never purchased anything from Outrun but i almost did on a couple occasions and likely would have in the future. Seemed like a good selection and fair prices. And Chris would post about new products and sales here and interect with us members. I hope your health issues improve Chris and you get back on your feet. Thats what I interpreted. However if your dealing with creditors are we getting the full amount back or a percentage on the dollar which worries me.

Lesson learned, sort of, in the sense that things don't always go according to plan. I have done lots of preorders, but this particular situation is a unique experience. I haven't had any issues receiving preorders from Toysnowman or Tfsafari. Amazon, Walmart and Gamestop allow preorders without paying up front - so if the product doesn't ship at least the money isn't in limbo where a resolution has to be sought. I have prepaid some preorders with Gamestop in the past and have had no issues cancelling orders and getting a refund (although I would normally just apply the credit to something else).

It is good to hear that someone has received a response from the refund email. Sucks that everyone in that refund boat will be waiting a month or so get that resolved. The other challenge with longstanding preorders is that I assume all of us have probably run out of any purchase protection that our credit cards may have.

Just because you entered credit card info doesnt mean you have been charged for anything.
Amazon has my cc info but only charges once the item is in stock and ready to ship. With Outrun they charged your cc immediately, which shouldn't be allowed anywhere in my opinion

I got 1 order thats still within paypal coverage but the other preorder isn’t. The question is do i use it as credit to buy the stuff I don’t want or hope and pray I get a refund from the “3rd party” handling the bankruptcy

I called VISA to inquire if they'll cover this if things fall through. Even though I put my preorder in April they said since I hadn't actually received anything yet they're going to start the 90 day protection as of a few days ago.

I emailed their refund email a week ago saying I wanted my figures instead of a refund (Legacy Blaster, SS86 Junkheap, SS86 Sludge) and got no reply. Got another email last night asking me to make a decision (again) and told them the same thing as before. Got a reply moments later and it looks like I'm getting a refund. So pissed as these figures have been available for a long time. I just ended up ordering them (minus Sludge) from Toysnowman

I'm still missing items from the December sale that were in-stock. I reached out a few times and haven't heard anything. I sent to both the info and the refund email. Ideally, if the items can be shipped out, it would be the best.

Otherwise I would have to contact the CC, but I'm not sure if there's a time limit they can refund a purchase.

I've been understanding from the beginning but now I'm a mixed of angry and nervous, I have 600$ worth of orders with no comeback from them :( I got a notification that my items were shipped over a week ago but no tracking number and some of the items were pre-orders of toys coming out in 2023 and 2 figures that I already received months ago are being shipped out again...

Dear customers of Outrun Collectibles,
We had hoped to secure a deal that would have allowed us to fulfill remaining orders, exchanges, and refunds that are outstanding. Unfortunately, all offers for someone else acquire the business fell through last week, which has left the company fully insolvent and on the path to bankruptcy. This may be the last chance to explain how we got here, so I’m going to take the opportunity to explain how everything transpired.
Between July and September 2022, 4 major things happened that caused the business to end:
- Several months worth of products that were set to be released in the future all released at once. We went from spending $2000-$4000 a week on inventory to that amount every single day. In July alone we paid out $90,000 in preorder inventory costs, which was more than we had spent in the previous 8 months combined. The regular cadence of the releases were not followed in any way, and we even had products that were due to arrive spring/summer of 2023 come out at that time as well.
- Sales dipped dramatically during this time as well due to recession fears and preorder fatigue, which caused us to drop to about 25% of sales that we had done in previous months. Hasbro’s price raises and changes to their packaging also was a major contributing factor, which we have only started to see the fallout from. We were forced to pay a higher price for most preorders that were already placed, but we had decided to absorb that additional cost rather than cancelling orders.
- We had a massive amount of preorder cancellations happen. Between June-August we had over $20,000 in cancelled preorders. This was money that had to be returned, and worse, we still had to pay for all of those orders from our distributor because we had zero option to cancel them. With most distributors, if you do not pay for several items, they just won’t send you any more items.
- Rising shipping costs. As you’ve seen, most stores had to raise their Free Shipping threshold. I can tell you with absolute certainty that this area is where most stores are losing money consistently. Canada’s shipping rates have always been bad, and we always had to factor them into the cost, but the cost to ship a package almost doubled at this time. Since most orders would be fulfilled at a later date, we couldn’t retroactively charge more for shipping.
I had also rolled my ankle while crossing the street at this time, which caused a major tendon in my foot to displace itself. I’m currently having to be extremely cautious with my foot until the surgery as any excessive activity can cause it to tear, resulting in lifelong mobility issues. This was the deciding factor in closing the store, as there is no way to continue operations during that recovery time.
I know I’m leaving with a lot of people upset and even hateful towards me, and I have to manage and live with that, because I’m unfortunately out of options. I’m sorry I couldn’t have done better. This will be my final sign-off and this email will be closed after this has gone out. Thank you to all who supported us.

Lesson learned about paying up front for preorders, sucks for some great retailers like TSM but after this incident I don't plan to be paying up front for pre-orders.

When I looked into it, the fees to go to small claims is kinda high unless your out thousands, and most likely if he's going bankrupt he probably doesn't have much assets to go after anyways

I hate to say it, but a typical legal response is "it depends."

A good question to ask is what is it worth it to you? These things take time and money, which can add to an already unpleasant situation.

That's not to say it isn't worthwhile pursuing. There are a lot of lawyers and paralegals out there who will give free consultations and evaluate what it is you're looking to pursue (I'd recommend getting 3-6 opinions if you were to take this route).

There certainly is a case to be made here. And I think there are some arguments for the Consumer Protection Act.

I'm fairly confident the owner is lurking to gauge the community's response to how things are going. And sometimes fear of legal recourse is enough to spurn an individual to make things right.

That being said, getting blood from a stone is damn near impossible. And from what I've read on here and ActionFigureNews.ca it looks like the owner has solidified things for now to his advantage (ie; using sympathy, time deferrals, and cutting off all contact albeit to one email).

My perspective is that a LOT of customers are going to get screwed in the end and he's just buying his time. Once this goes to creditors the top dog gets paid first (most likely what is owed rent-wise) and the rest trickles down from there. If anything is left that is what we as collectors may see, but I'm not confident.

From a legal perspective and a collector as well who has been and knows others affected by this, I would put out a call to see who has actually been paid back versus those who have not.

My hope, though it is going down by the day, is that things are made right and it's just taking time. But my gut is saying that's not the case, given how things have transpired since September 2nd (the first indicator on his FB page of things taking a downturn).

For anyone else with legal experience, I'd love to hear their take on it. And I'm curious as to which board members here have indeed had their situation resolved, if at all.

There is always garnishment from their wages. Even in spite of bankruptcy, there will be (or may currently be) an income. If successful in SCC a judge can order restitution in the form of wage garnishment (ie; a percentage per month taken from their paycheck until an order is rectified).

No lawyer is going take a class action lawsuit against a bankrupt small business seriously. And individual cases would only be considered if the buyer can prove themselves to be a creditor of the business. Not even worth your time unless you had a few thousand dollars in preorders go unfulfilled. And even then it could be a long, costly road.

It sucks to say it, but the best option for most here may be to cut your losses and move on (with the exception of those getting help from their credit card companies).

I never ordered from this business myself, but they struck me as questionable from the start, what with the buggy website at launch and almost non-existent business history. He seems to have rushed into the market and wasn?t prepared for setbacks, both with regards to finances and staffing.

Paying for preorders up front at established retailers like A3U or trustworthy ones like TSM can probably still be considered ?low risk? choices, but it might be worth a second thought before paying for preorders at these lesser known businesses.

Two weeks ago I started a dispute with my credit card company. They informed me the time window to dispute starts from when the item was expected to ship to you. So if you preordered in March and it was expected to arrive in September, then the window for dispute starts in September. I was also told they have a bankruptcy option so even if they go bankrupt it's fine. Everyone should get moving asap if they haven't already by contacting their credit card companies before it's to late.

agree. GameStop, Pulse, WalMart all allow me to pre-order without paying. A3U does it as well. I definitelya ppreciate how much harder it is for small etailers, but I simply won't preorder if I have to pay up front.

If he's filing for bankruptcy he will be protected from lawsuits. You can make a claim toward the bankruptcy and wait in line for some money back but its not a guarantee.

Paying up front for a preorder over a year away just seems crazy to me. Not sure why people do it and expect reliable results. This applies to video games too. Do not buy pre-release, alpha or beta games hoping they will eventually come out and be good. Look what happened to cyberpunk. Minimum Viable Product (MVP) has been a buzz word in these industries for over a decade.

Also dont recommend harrassing him, because it is harassment. Business fail all the time, just a nature of business. Making solid choices where you spend your money is the individuals responsibility.

No its actually my first time. Regardless if you ordered off him via paypal his personal email is the info on purchase. Anybody that has ordered with him will have the same info. Hells probably wouldnt be too hard to find him on social media as well.

No its actually my first time. Regardless if you ordered off him via paypal his personal email is the info on purchase. Anybody that has ordered with him will have the same info. Hells probably wouldnt be too hard to find him on social media as well.

Damn, I gave him the benefit of the doubt as well. I thought he would eventually send the other half of my order from the summer sale (about $80 outstanding). He gave a lot of explaining about how he's back logged.

That's pretty terrible, should've filed a claim when I first heard he was closing.

Everybody gave him that and he just sat on his hands and did jack crack corn. Even when shit hit the fan his website was taking suppose orders. Imagine the poor suckas thinking theyre getting a 20% deal on an item and aint getting nothing on return sucks balls

Interesting thing about his email, stating that shipping is the biggest money lost for the business, but doesn't offer people to pick up their in-stock orders in Toronto. Also, he stated that a lot of pre-orders suddenly became available way ahead of schedule, I don't really see how that would be an issues since the people who had order those could now receive the items.

I don't think he sat on his hands, I think he laid the groundwork to cover himself, and probably will resell everyone on Amazon and Walmart.

His downfall was opening a brick and mortar store. He under took extra expenses where he didnt have the business acumen to handle. He should have stayed in his lane and be an online store.

All the excuses in that e-mail, they don’t justify anything and the nerve to just state that he will be shutting his email down. Disgusting, sorry to all those who were affected.

So I never "fell victim" to this, mainly because I was already too picky about:
-> (thing I want isn't on sale)
-> (thing I want is on sale, but it's not a huge enough discount to consider, and I still got to pay for shipping, etc etc)

Plus the whole NMC phenomena had me spooked about advance paying for pre-orders, to the point where I never pre-ordered even from TSM & Pulse (only ever order items that were/are confirmed to be instock)

Basically (to my wife) "I don't want to be out money, waiting for months for something to come in"
Haslab being the exception, on the basis "its the only way to get these, and likely the cheapest since aftermarket will be bananas"

zero-down pre's are the way to go, GameStop is good for this - even though I wish they had better sales like Target, Amazon, etc - 10% is great on big-ticket items, but for smaller fry, it's a pittance

ANYWAYS I remember making an Outrun account and everything, but I never moved on it - lucky lucky

Yessir a lot of ppl lost their hard earned money because of him. I work a second job psrt time to cover my hobby expenses and this chump crumbles in adversity when the going gets hot. The time he put in emails/fb/ig post on poor him he could have shipped what he can to his customers. Hes is unprofessional childish wannabe entrepreneur with multiple shortcomings. I recall an ig post story about somebody msging him good riddance and he screenshot it saying stay classy. Lol bruh dont even go there with that energy. Shame on him for his rolodex of excuses.

I do have an update to share. I have a Visa card with RBC and was able to open a dispute regarding items I pre-ordered in February and March. The item in February was expected by October 2022, so that was a slam dunk. The items in March were expected by December 2022, so I needed to provide the e-mail from Outrun on October 11th 2022 that clearly states they would not be fulfilling any remaining orders.

So, to anyone in similar circumstances to me, you might be in good shape to open a dispute.

Pulse doesn't take your money on preorders until the item ships.
