Takara is pursuing the elitist pricing model. Playing on the haves vs have nots sense of needing to belong. They know it's a community fueled by other collectors and social media.
I think though, the time of the die hard product loyalty folks defending official product over ko is fading away.

Looks neat... (looks at price)... and I’ll be waiting for a Studio Series version. Screw that noise. Good day, sir!

Why are people mentioning Takara when this is a Hasbro release?

It's a joint collaboration (the box has both names on it). Also, I think Takara is designing the figures, so they're probably the ones who are dictating the price.

Yeah, it's Takara designer, on one of the earlier poster of MPM Megatron, it has the Takara MP designer's signature on it (don't remember which one).

Hasbro's MSRP is $159.99 USD so $229.99 CAD is not that unreasonable at the current exchange rate.

I think $200 CAD would have been more fair (since they rounded up the exchange from $210 to $230).

If I placed an order and charged on Credit Card. Will it be automatically paid for or it will not be taken off my card until the item is in stock?

"fair" does not apply to vulture capitalism.

I mean, if you're going to pay $220 for a pile of melty solder, have I got a deal for YOU.

Lol, that's pretty much all he is. I also doubt the gray plastic will be painted from the looks of it.

Why preorder? It's not like it's that likely to sell out. Wait for a sale

Takara doesnt dictate price for Hasro releases, Hasbro does.

Hasbro and Takara have merged. As far as Transformers go, they're the same company.
May as well just get used to saying Hastak
