SND X-Mortis upgrade kit for Combiner Wars Battle core Optimus Prime

So, this has become my favorite figure this year so far. It took some work to put it together, but the end result has left me speechless. This version of Nova Prime is much nicer looking than the one by MMC or Maketoys. Highly recommend this if you want to do something with your CW Optimus (also the the SND Primo Vitalis upgrade kit for the regular CW Optimus Prime is also great --> I have this kit on the way).

This guy I work with knows that I'm into Transformers, so he brought these into the office. He's originally from Brazil and brought some toys when he came to Canada for his son.

I remember that someone at TFCon did a presentation on the history of toys around the world, so I think these were a Brazilian release.

Lol, that's messed up. I'd run into the streets yelling "down with Hasbro", but everyone seems to buying up all the Shockwaves (myself included), so I guess people don't mind? :confused:

The only way I can see this guy being leader class size wise is in full on alt mode so yeah it sucks $ wise but this is the best Shockwave for a CHUG collection so...

I get the anger, but I don't get people acting like we hadn't been warned before hand.

My only problem with them deciding to go with a specific scale now is that Rodimus Prime now is too tall compared to UM. Shockwave could have a bit morebang for the buck, but I like the look of the sled/drone thing and plan on using that when I get him compared to the 4 arm look.

That's pretty much what I do with it. I use the drone as a separate chracter

Yeah, that's pretty dumb. I'm assuming they're going to rerelease all of the characters for this line, so we're probably going to get another Rodimus in the correct scale some time in the future.

Sure is! Here he is with my "Work in Progress" G1 Prime
My only gripe so far is the front to back leg articulation at the waist is compromised when he's posed like in the photo.

Thanks. In the message editor are you using the "insert image" button? What image host are you using?

I used to use Photobucket, but I've switched to Imgbox...so far I find the new host pretty sweet...

So a favorite of mine, Broadside! Yes, really I love the zaniness of a transformer who can land on himself. Anyway there has never been a good toy, all three I have a deeply flawed in serious ways.

The G1 version is a brick, even by G1 standards. The CHUG version is amazingly articulated by comparison.

The third toy is FansProject Assaulter, which was considered quite a good 3P toy at a the time but, as you can seem third party has come a long way.

The plane modes are interesting. The G1 is garbage, the CHUG version is garbage and yet surprising faithful in a new garbage interpretation of an old garbage mode. The 3P toy is O.K. in this mode but doesn't really look like Broadside.

The aircraft carrier modes are better. The #P is terrible, again not really broadside, but the G1 and CHUG are really nice, with the CHUG serving as a nice update.

Picked this guy up from Winners for $15 and wouldn't you know it, they actually improved the hip connection in combined mode over all other incarnations of this mold. I also wanted him to be Hosehead but accidently ordered the wrong labels.

I think these are cybertron based alt modes. I doubt Cybertronian teenagers rocked the walkman back in Cybertron :rofl:. The titans return soundwave turned into a boom box but the robot was way too boxy.
This is still an update and the robot mode is a good fit for the CHUG line IMHO.

Shockwave isn't a gun either but there was a way to find it. You really think there won't be a way to get that out of Soundwave

I think these are cybertron based alt modes. I doubt Cybertronian teenagers rocked the walkman back in Cybertron :rofl:. The titans return soundwave turned into a boom box but the robot was way too boxy.

If I understand correctly you want an update to G1 Soundwave in the Seige line? In said line Shockwave isn't his G1 self, he's a spaceship and yet remove kibble and viola. I'm sure there will be a way to get the new Soundwave into a close enough version

Don't do that. If you are on the page the shows BBcode and you hit copy then just paste the link. Don't hit the image button here of the forum. Once you paste the link it will be in your post.

About 45 cm or very close to CW Devy so he would go well with Titan class combiners but way short if you go the Zeta or TW route. The CW combiner size is good for me

If you guys ever want a super high quality, Leader class, CHUG Optimus Prime, try looking for the Jujiang JJ-01 Supreme Leader. He stands 10 inches tall, makes a lot of improvements over the Classics Optimus Prime mold, and is made from high quality plastic and tons of diecast (he is HEAVY, probably one kilogram). You might be lucky to find one on Ebay for a decent price (ranges from ~$90-$130, but totally worth it).

Agreed and that shot is gorgeous. Still working on him but he's a nice figure. Got the DNA Designs DK-07 for POTP Predaking and really happy with it. Just with the wings were "taller" to match the length but with wings splayed it looks much better

It's a pretty solid figure for $20. Transformation also looks nice and, even though his articulation is somewhat limited (no knees), he looks great on a shelf with other CHUG figures. Shockwave and Jetfire were pretty popular in the US, so I'd get either of them if you get the opportunity.

Thanks. It was late at night and I green screened the GB figures and Ectotron so I can super impose on a background and make Ectotron look larger. It worked out alright but it is a really nice figure. I do recommend it.

Some dont like the new siege cassettes??
I dont know why.
Laserbeak is not flimsy or fragile.
Common sense is due when transforming the week legs
And ravage is symmetrically sound.
The new ss rampage is cool but blocky.
And I think the cyberverse prowl is the best of all the deluxe toys.

Just got this guy, the red yelled at me to get him... and yes he's "old" but this metallic paint drew me in, and I tend to not get cars, nor movie figures that often.

Have to say this figure impressed me a lot more than I thought it would. Picked it up at TFCon for a decent price but more than I would have normally spent on it but yeah I get the exclusive “markup.” Originally I just wanted to get it for the 3 Prime masters he came with so I could complete the set but after messing with him, yeah he’s gonna stay. Also couldn’t leave Primal as a backpack slab so I separated him so both bots can be displayed at the same time.
