So, everyone knows of or has heard the complaints about oxidization/corrosion/tarnishing with MP Meg's chrome feet (and a few other parts). Just curious how bad it is on your figures? I Was giving mine a quick inspection and was shocked to find out how bad my guys feet look. At first I though my wife may have somehow spilled coffee on it.... but she doesn't drink coffee or even touch my stuff:p I'll take and post pics after work to show the extent. It's pretty bad though, not only his feet but the chrome piece half way up his back is just as bad. On top of that, seems like my MP Megs has the same hip replacements as 6" Ti Megs. Can't pose this bugger at all on glass shelves unless I wedge him in a corner. Otherwise, he does the splits.
So......how bad are your feet? Are they getting worse or just staying the same?

Is there a way around this? Maybe pop them off and hit them with some Kromekoat?

Mine came with fairly heavily 'tarnished' feet on the bottom right out of the box.

I haven't done anything about it but I've heard rubbing alcohol followed quickly by a nail polish protective coat is the way to go if you want to get rid of it.

Also curious if anyone has had the chrome blister right through?

Anyone know if this issue was addressed in the second run of these figures?

Mine is second run. It's fairly bad on the bottom of one foot and just a bit on the other foot.

Mine are nasty too... I haven't bothered trying to clean them yet. I kinda find it gives it character, I just hope it does not completely eat through :D

I have no problems.

Also, Meg's feet aren't chrome, they're actually metal.

chrome usually is metal

chrome usually is metal

Chrome is actually a plating process of metal, it's not actual metal though.

Sure it is. But you're right, its just on the surface, with probably like tin, steel, aluminum or something else underneath. It can still blemish and corrode like other metals though. especially if its been scuffed up.

Mine too looks bad,
what kind of crappy metal did Takara use anyway? With all the titaniums and G1 toys that I have that uses die-cast parts and only mp meg suffers the dam cosmic rust, for the price we paid, this should had never happen.
Oh well, I will try the cleaning methods that somes have suggested here

Well if you're really curious, you could send me a piece of the metal and a couple hundred bucks and I'll do metallurgical analysis on it. :P

You won't be getting the part back. Not in a usable form at least.
