Now why couldn't hasbro have done this originally?

Hasbro did get a few working transformable TF watches in the past. G1 gave us Autobot Autoceptor (Watch/Car to Robot that came in grey, dark blue or red), Deceptor (Watch/Jet to Robot that came in yellow, grey and dark blue) and an Autobot logo that split apart to show the LED time (no name for the watch). Later on G2 had the non transformable pop up watches in Ultra Magnus, Galvatron and Superion (These were sold during G2, but in Japan we sold during the Scamble City 1986 run). We got the "slider" watches (Alt mode slides to reveal the time) in G2 Megatron and G2 Blast Off. And finally 2 transformable watches in Autobot AUTOBOT (Yes that's his name) and Decepticon Scorpia (Some rumor it was a fembotl). Autobot's instructions said he could turn into 4 different things (Spaceship, Base, Robot and Watch) and Scorpia, you guessed it, scorpion to watch and back.

The original Kronoform box was hilarious where they showed 7 more alt modes, each one worst then the last such as the battle station which was him in robot mode standing on him head...and solar creature (I don't even know what the hell that means) that was him on his head again but taken from the other side (front instead of back...).

Holy crap!!!

I had the tenth one down, labeled "F15イーグル/INVICEPTOR".

I'm not sure if it was the exact same thing, but it was a watch that detached and transformed into a gray F-15 style jet. I had completely forgotten about it. I don't think it had anything to do with transformers though. It was just a generic kids gimmick watch.

Thanks for the memories, Pascal!

Nope, that was a Transformer. Made by Takara, licensed by Hasbro. I just found mine in a box the other day.

Boy I really want to track down some of those now. X-Kalibor and Deceptor in particular.
