Hello Transfans! Hasbro MP-03 Grimlock is scheduled to hit Canada in the first 2 weeks of May and will be filtered out thereafter, estimated for around end of May. He will be selling for $99.99 regular price.

Masterpiece Prowl is, indeed, going to be selling for $69.99 regular price and will be hitting Canada in late July/early August, so it is estimated that it will probably be available mid to end of August.

From initial images so far there are a few differences. First being the plastic seems to be a non metallic dino sheen to it. Its more flat but initial images can be misleading till you get proper photos of it. Secondly Hasbro has always removed the crisp sharp edges on the hands and teeth. Not sure if they will do the same to this but that was the trend on prior release. The accessories seem same but its unknown if the apron, Computron cap will be included... Hope others can add to this info.

I think the big difference is that you can't find a new, sealed Grimlock for less than $100 from an overseas seller.

A fair warning! The TRU ordering system will charge any postal codes with zeros in it for shipping even though the item is eligible for free shipping. Just call up customer service and tell them that it was advertised as free shipping and they will credit your account after the item has shipped.

I wouldn't worry either way. If the report of 2500 units for TRU Canada is true, then just like YOTH Prime there will be lots left after the initial rush and can be picked up during the next sale.

I immediately phoned my card issuer and was told everything was fine on their end, so i called TRU customer service and asked a representative to look into this order, and after 10 minutes of holding time, i was told the order was canceled because they ran out of stock to fill all the pre-orders, they received an overwhelming amount of orders for this item and had to cancel the ones they weren't able to fulfill. the representative then wished me luck to find one in the stores and said there was nothing they could do regarding the order cancelation.

Finally i need to point out that i placed the order the morning of the following day that it appeared on the site (i think the posting first came up last wed or thurs evening? i can't recall, but i ordered it the next morning), and the figure is still listed on the site as of now taking in preorders.

They did this to me last year with Soundwave. Cancelled my pre-order after fulfilling others who had ordered days after me (because they cancelled my first order due to credit card issues) and then put it back up a few days later again and I got it. TRU is just really disorganized when it comes to online orders sometimes it seems.

Meaning that we are probably the majority percentage buying MPs and G1 related items, but probably a smaller percentage buying the Robot Heroes kiddie line. Collectors account for a far larger percentage than most people are willing to admit. If we didn't there would be no MP figures, no Generations, and no G1 Reissues, and no 30th Anniversary toys all priced at 50 buck or higher.

Collectors also have Botcon and Joecon, and countless Star Wars and Star Trek conventions. Let's be honest we spend money, kids don't.

The price difference is actually not the issue. TRU US messed up the price. They used the old price from 2010. That's why they jacked it up to $79 now. So actually there is only a $20 difference which is much more reasonable. The real issue is where the hell is the preorder link gone?

Opened mine (got it at lunch today hah), and I've gotta say that people are definitely not exaggerating about the floppy hips. The right one on mine is especially loose, and the overall mass of the legs makes it more noticeable than with smaller figures I guess. Other than that however, and possibly the fact that his left hand can't hold shit by design (which in my case doesn't even matter because I've got him balancing the TFA sword with it), I've got no complaints. This is an older model MP that's being reissued for us at well below half the market value of the originals that a lot of people couldn't afford or otherwise justify buying, and with minimal changes. The crown is hella cool too haha.

You'll feel better when you stroll into your local TRU and find Grimlock on the shelf. 50/50 it'll happen before the preorders start shipping. ;)

I spoke to a friend this evening that works @ Toys R Us and he confims that they are expecting a limited quantities of MP Grimlock in the next couple weeks...

Good for you! There are plenty of MPs. The price increase is because of the artificially low supply created by the scalpers. I have and never will buy a scalped product. If I see one I will let them now what douches they are. In the meantime Iwill wait patiently for my preorder. I just hope otehrs do not give in and be patient. They will return them like they did soundwave.
