They give you $10 to clear them out?

Even then the price would be too high.

I don't think you could give those away lol let alone sell them for $50 hahahahaha

That Bumblebee 3-pack is great! It perfectly represents his transformation from loveable hero to merciless and indiscriminate murder machine! :D

That Bumblebee 3 pack should be called "The regresion of a fallen hero" or some BS like that. Are these just 3 deluxes stuck onto a white card? O_O

Wow, I feel bad for Canadian Tire...because I bet they will be stuck with a TON of these post-Christmas.

At least in past years, they had exclusives that were interesting at the very least.

I know that's Hasbro trying to clear out the overstock on DOTM...but $50 for a 3 pack? What's the incentive in that? That's just 3 x regular price.

It's almost hard for me to believe that 4 years ago, Bumblebee was one of the most sought after figures from the TF movie line. People were going bat shit crazy for the '74 and '08 cc Bumblebee; now, they are going bat shit crazy due to over saturation.

Who is this "Bumblebee" character? I don't think I've ever seen him in stores before. Must be exclusive.....IN BIZARRO WORLD!!!

Ah yes, Canadian Tire toy pricing. I remember when they tried to sell that Mini-Con ten-pack for FORTY DOLLARS. I got mine when they finally put it down to $15.

Anyone remember what the Autobot daredevil pack was originally at Canadian Tire last year ?

Nomad

I don't remember the price, but I'm sure its been posted in sightings threads, and I do recall it dropping quite a bit toward the end.

Also from what I remember from my time served in retail, Crappy Tire gets hosed quite a lot on stuff like this when it doesn't sell before the summer changeovers because being a section of the seasonal department that's only there for a couple of months, its not even merchandise that they have around for the rest of the year to shelfwarm. Plus, since the section itself is so well, seasonal haha, bringing last year's crap out doesn't do much.

Like, I remember hunting around for fittings & shit all the time and having to crawl through sleds in the warehouse to get there in the winter, but for toys like this, much of it ends up being loss leaders for the sake of flyer & department presence, but that's largely how the stores make their money. That's why we had such a huge emphasis on not fucking up on the weekend rushes (namely with big ticket flyer items), and why nobody gave a shit about random Nascar crap that went on clearance haha.

Poor kids. 3 Bumblebees all at once, 2 being the same mold. What were they thinking?

Metroplex79
10-24-2012, 09:20 AM

I'm glad I only paid $14.61 + tax for the 3 I got last week at Toys R Us.

It probably might have been an easier sell to parents if it was a 3-pack with an Animated, Movie, and Prime Bumblebee.

BigUnitPrime
10-24-2012, 10:19 AM
Yeah I saw these at my Crapy Tire a week or two ago, didn't think anyone cared about them. WTF is with 3 Bees in one pack anyway? I guess its just CT trying to sell off the rest of the crap from last year. Mine has the 2 pack Universe deluxe Optimus Prime and Megatron as well. Sad thing is that it was there last year too, and at the end of X-mas they were 5 bucks now there back up to 30.

Cheers Ian
10-24-2012, 10:38 AM
I can see clueless parents and grandparents buying these.

I'm guessing the high regular price is just so Canadian Tire will be able to put it on "sale" for $25 bucks or something for their flyers/x-mas sales.

sikkbones
10-24-2012, 11:55 AM
The Target is uncles, dads and grandfathers... you know the men that go to. Canadian tire regulary. The idea is we will buy these because they are handy and at front of store.... I kinda did that last year for the boy with overtaking for a hot wheels set there getting a part.

With a price of $50 I wonder how much Hasbro is selling these to CT for?

sikkbones
10-24-2012, 12:15 PM
About 3 or 4 bucks each im sure... I expect the first sale on these to be 50% off.... and I wonder if this is where the cyberfire bees all went.

Next years CT exclusive prid bee and Fe bee two pack.

9.97 I think. If I remember right the ark was $15, the DOTM Deluxes were 8 and the cyberverse characters with vehicles were 10. Oh and the Universe Prime/Megs sets were 10 too. Again if memory serves

I hope somebody at Hasbro got FIRED for this debacle.

The person at Hasbro that was able to pawn these of to CT should get a raise.

Let's say both. Whoever made it so there were SO MANY of those damn Bees that the other guy had to fix it by masterfully peddle 'em to CT should be fired. :argh: the other guy was just fixing it. The CT guy should just be laughed at for being a sucker.

Basically, but considering how disconnected the corp probably is from anything toy related, I can't imagine it took more than a mention of a combination of flagship characters & unique ones being released around the holidays to sell em on it.

racerguy76
10-26-2012, 10:05 AM
Agreed. And no doubt the DOTM deluxes were the cheapest thing on the list of holiday exclusives, which is another thing CT is into.

If this goes on clearance for 10 bucks or something its probably worth it though, especially if you're in it for the Cyberfire Bee & looking to get the others off as gifts. Or alternatively if you like anything else.

Actually if I get the 3 pack with Lazerbeak I might just give it away in a contest but probably not

I'll probably buy both on clearance for psycho bee and grey topspin.

These are on clearance now for 19.99 . There's actually 3 dfferent 3-packs not two. There's the bee one, the one with Topspin, Beak, etc. There's a 3rd one with Skids, Thundercracker, and Air Raid also.

I bought the latter 2 of them - thought it was a good enough deal for an odd exclusive. I didn't spring for the Bee 3-pack, though. Too much Bee and would've ended up with a duplicate from the packs that way.

I'll wait another week or so until they cleranced em for 10$ or less.... really not interested...

not one of the sets doesn't have a figure i dont already own.
