I've just come across a Rotorstorm. End of G1, wicked colours.

How rare is this figure? My understanding is that it was European only, but did it flood the market? Thanks!

Ironically, he's less rare in Canada than in the US, since the turbomasters did see limited release here. He's probably not the most common of figures, but rotorstorm and stalker are two of the more common ones from that line, I would say. Still, not something you find every day, especially in good condition.

Thanks Aernaroth, I just picked him and Stalker up. They are complete and in good condition. No rub signs on these figures though. Was that common for the end of G1?

If you want to sell him, put him on ebay. Locally the "UK Exclusives" are not that hard to find.

He's a nice figure, and I figured with LSotW there maybe renewed interest in the figure. Also, I thought he could be on the rare side. Guess not so much.

Thanks for all your help!

I like him. He holds up well as a G1 against Tomahawk.

He's a really nice figure.
I've currently lost my camera but I'll take some pics if it ever turns up again.

He was repaintd for machine wars less the spring loaded launchers(like all of the machine wars takes the fun out of the toy) I beleive as sandstorm with a green/tan paint with U.S. airforce stars/bars decal on sides.

Got him in a huge garage sale score once, sold him to my friend, a fellow collector, for $1 as I wasn't interested in him. lol

Well I got him for $2. So you're sayin' I over paid by 100%. Gee thanks.

I've been on the lookout for a Rotorstrom since reading the Last Stand of the Wreckers. That's quite a find for $2!

I was shocked to find it. That's why I wondered how rare it was. As I said it came complete with Stalker as well.

His missile has a weird crosshairs in it and a loading door. What's the deal with that?

Rubsigns were pretty much phased out by then.

As for Stalkers missile, there should be a translucent plate you can swing up around where the loading door is. Do so, and then look through the back of the missile again. The predators had a gimmick (called the Megavisor) where that missile could be attached to the other predator jets, and they had their own... for lack of a better term... intelligence plates regarding the other autobots that you could look at through stalkers missile. Skyquake also had a similar feature integrated into him.

Skyquake also had a similar feature integrated into him.

although trying to read anything with his is a nice practice in gps testing lol

Man, that sure is in nice shape! Nice find!

Time certainly hasn't been kind to mine...losing a lot of the missiles, stress marks on the propeller blades, and the sticker wear. Had a lot of fun with him though as a kid.

I always liked him though, even prior to Wreckers. Hopefully we'll get lucky enough to get him in an updated form someday.

Can you try and get a shot of the inside of the missile? I dont know if its even possible with a camera.

Also, you may not want to keep stalker's launcher loaded. There are reports of GPS on it.

Thanks for the GPS tip! I will keep it unloaded.

Its tough to get a picture down the tube of the missile. Here's my attempt, it depends on the intensity of the light on what is visible. You'll have to merge the two images:

That worked pretty well! The Takara and Marvel references seem pretty self-explanatory, was Yoke involved in the design of this figure? What does AugUSA signify? Planned release date? A Takara ID code? Autogyro Strategist (his alt-mode and function)?

Its a mystery for me!
