It has begun........ the move is 100%, construction is almost at it's end and the Complete G1 USA/UK/Japan shelve is ready.......

http://tinypic.com/r/2f090rn/7

More to come......................

(Glass doors, glass shelving that is 3 feet deep each, lights on all 3 sides)

(Also I just used those figures to show how high each shelving is)

**UPDATE 04-22-2011**

So I figured I might as well show you something that is more or less 100% done in my eyes. My 99% complete SCF Japanese G1 PVC collection (Including chase figures and GIFTs/Custom PVCs by friends). I am missing stupid shit like an EXTRA Star Saber (Colored) and some pewter stuff not shown. Also i

So your going with the museum look? It looks great though plenty of space to showcase your vast collection of Rodimuses (? is that how you pronounce it) Looks awesome though can't wait to see it when you fill the shelves!

When all is said and done, are you going to start selling tickets to your own personal TF museum? :D It's looking very nice so far, bud. :)

Actually, the Rodimus display is going to be a seperate area. This area is just for every G1 USA/UK/Japan toy ever made. So there WILL be some Hot Rod/Rodimus figures but just the bare minimum of it's individual releases.

That's JUST G1. Everything G1 ever. If there is space I will put in G1-related stuff like PVCs or other merch and given I STILL have space, G2.

Then I will begin construction of the same thing again, but for Beast Wars to....... I think I can fit up to Cybertron/Galaxy Force. The secret to this is DEEP shelving so you don't waste wall space.

Sub Basement. My house has 4 floors (Semi split-level). So the whole level is only for Transformers, cause.......... well I got a lot of stuff to display.

How will you be organizing your figures in the display? Will they be in mini battles? will you be displaying them in robot or alt mode or half and half? I always find it interesting how other collectors display their figures.

I am going to start filling tonight with 1984 to 1986 (Just got home now). Weekdays are busy.

Also they were custom made. What I did was I built a "faux" closet that was 3 feet deep, painted it all white ("Blue White" is the paint color, it's good for light reflection), then put Museum UV Light (They don't cause damage to white surfaces)

The bottom left area is high enough JUST for Fortress Maximus, Grand Maximus and Brave Maximus. I made it like that with them in mind. I didn't want them in city mode on the actual shelving cause I worry that they will be too heavy on the glass.

Slowly but surely, right now is the long process of dusting everything. These cases are super clean, new and have doors, I don't want to bring dust into them.

But man........ it takes forever to dust some TFs... (3 Seekers, 1 hour)

With your collection being as large as it is, I can't even begin to imagine how long it'll take you to dust everything....

It's taking a painful long time (Going by year as I display them), I am also now going through every figure I dust and making sure every gun, missile, landing gear ECT is there, then sorting it away in a better place.......

Guys, never move =P

the fastest way i use for dusting is to use a shaving brush(the one used to make the lather) and a can of compressed air;)
good thing you don't smoke, the cigarettte resin is a total p.i.t.a. to clean.

I moved in May, I'm starting to think my collection won't be displayed in it's entirety ever again.

How are you dusting? Compressed air? Fine imported silk tapestries? Q tips? Just wondering what other people use.

Girlfriend's old eye liner brushes for the tough to get areas (like the grills on Seeker jets or just ANYWHERE on a stickered up Omega Supreme).

For larger flat easy areas I am ghetto and I use a paper towel....... oh and I blow..... I blow a lot. :o

You could try getting one of those camera air-bladder things that you squeeze to blow air and that have a brush on the end, that might help.

After listening to you on the podcasts and hearing of this vast collection, I'm quite intrigued. I only have a couple hundred and it takes forever to dust them. I have found behind glass they do stay dust free alot longer. Hope to see some WIP pictures.

Waiting on some clear display stands from yojoe.com. I want to do this right. The only stuff 100% on display right now is the complete SCF PVC line. At the same time I am also working on other parts of my new house like the Library (Comics/Mangas/misc toys) and the Game Room (Anything video game and media related). This is my magnum opus, it will take time, but when it's done........ oh ho ho ho........
