Universe and Animated Voyagers on Clearance at Wal-mart

Many reports have been coming in from our board members that Transformers Universe and Animated voyagers are on clearance at Wal-mart for $10!

Many stores have been receiving additional stock and has now given members in Ontario (and hopefully elsewhere soon) a chance to pick up the wave 4 voyagers Inferno (http://www.tfw2005.com/resources/universe-classics-20-autobots-262/inferno-1915/) and Vector Prime (http://www.tfw2005.com/resources/universe-classics-20-autobots-262/vector-prime-1949/). Wal-marts with remaining stock is also on clearance.

UPDATE: A call from head office had said that the SKU's for Animated Voyagers were not properly updated, if a store manager says it was a flier misprint, they're wrong. Also today (October 2) is the last day for the sale.

I'd guess until they're all sold out. I believe this is a clearance of old product rather than a sale on an item that is still replenish-able.

There are tons of Vector Primes everywhere. Agincourt Wally has 15 or even more Vectors, while STC had 3. :confused:

Alrighty boys and girls, heres a easy way of knowing if any Animated or Universe toys are coming to your local Walmart. :cool:

1. Get any Voyager Animated or Universe toy, get the person working toys to scan the toy with the TALZON gun (I dunno if thats how you spell it :p) 2. Get them to tell you how many are on hand, and how many are in transit. It should save people time by not going to Walmart daily, and it can save people money from getting other board members to get you toys that arent at your store yet ;)

Give it a try, they have to release that information, trust me, I work at Walmart lol :p

I only saw Universe on the shelf, but there were a couple of cases still on the ground that I'm not sure of. I assumed they were Universe as well but didn't look closely.

The figures I saw were:

I have some good news for Ottawa-Gatineau residents - no, I didn't see any Inferno's or Vector Prime's. As suggested by Cliffjumper69, I got one of the friendly neighbourhood blue-smocks at the South Keys Wally to scan a Universe Voyager Dropshot to see if they would be getting anymore in. Once she scanned it, she gave me a suprised look (the hmm, whatya know look) and said they indeed were getting more in. In fact, she said they should be on the shelves by next week (according to her - week 35, I assume we're in week 34?). But I'm more inclined to check on Friday morning. I then asked how many they would be getting she said a lot. I asked more than a hundred? She said, "Yes". Now, I'm not entirely sure if they will be Inferno's and Vector Prime's, but it does give hope.

But yeah, for people lamenting the lack of a ladder on Inferno , he's modeled after a pumper, not a larger-sized fire engine [despite the rather odd presence of 6 wheels], and as such shouldn't have a ladder. Although he also shouldn't have a strange water cannon, but still. [I don't know why I feel so compelled to state this, but it might have something to do with seeing a truck that looked [I]identical to the toy this morning, and, lo, it lacked a ladder. I would be *stunned* to see TFA Voyagers show up in Universe packaging. We've never had even a hint of such a thing (no leaked photos, no rumours, no ebay auctions, nada).

For TFA what's happening with the price scanning is simply, as devilsnight and others point out, that the Wally computers won't show "$10" for TFA Voyagers until 12:00am Friday morning. :)

He warms shelves cause when compared in a set he's smaller than Megatron, Starscream and even Lockedown. But in the cartoon he towers over them. (he does look good fighting my Voyager Bulkhead though).

I understand your frustration, but cmon man, ask for help. My Walmart has 20+ Infernos if your having a hard time finding one, just ask. The door swings both ways, it sucks even more for the people who will never see a $10 Inferno or VP in their area and get to read about everyone else getting them.

I know I felt the sting of something like this back one Alternators were on clearance for $10. Everyone was hooking everyone else up and all I did was ask for help and I found one of my really good friends in the process, FreedomGundam ;)

Grammar issues aside...I understand where your coming from. But this would happen reguardless of the toy in my opinion, at $10 you can't lose.

Collecting has a you snooze you lose policy in most cases. It's not like people are hoarding and up selling these for massive profits, and these prices are VERY ATTRACTIVE for parents too who are trying to save a buck for Christmas. There's competition everywhere.

It doesn't take much time to keep trying different stores and locations...i'm sure there's more than one Walmart where ever you may reside. I would suggest waiting until the sale officially starts tomorrow as stores may have been holding back stock.

That and keeping track of the sightings forum and/or looking for hookups helps too ! I doubt anyone on here is taking advantage of others needs for these figures...people here are smart enough to have their limits and aren't in the game to get ripped off. It's not taking advantage of someone if your willing to pay for it...nor is it taking advantage if they ASK/OFFER you something for it.

As for the Animated figures being on clearance, I was sent an image where this was the case and they were included in the $10 pricing but upon scanning the price it was $30 so I'll have to do some further investigating...

Well my apologizes for the Kitchener/Waterloo guys as I've more or less cleaned out St Jacobs & Sunrise of anything worth while.

Animated were not scanning $10 so I went to customer service. St Jacobs didn't even hesitate to honor the flyer but Sunrise tried claiming it was Universe Only. So I complained, said I wanted to see a manager since the flyer clearly stated $10. So I got them for $10.

When I left St Jacobs approx 7:05am they had 3 or 4 Lugnuts and when I left Sunrise approx 8:25 they had 2 Lugnuts

Well, I gave WalMart WAY too much credit. TFA Voyagers are still scanning at $29.99ea as of this morning.

I took a Lugnut up front and it took 2 cashiers, a manager, a copy of their own flyer, and my pointing out where the box said "Animated" and "Voyager Class" to get them to "pricematch" it. :confused::mad:

But the reluctance to see the issue plain as day by looking at the Flyer (i.e. that "Animated Voyagers" actually ARE on sale for $10) and assist the customer promptly and in a friendly manner is just so frustrating.

At the Brossard wallyhole, I spent an hour dealing with 3 bluevests, a redvest, a manager, and a customer lackofservice person and finally I was able to get my Animated Grimlock for $10.

After my 25 minutes ordeal the toy person called the computer people and had them change the UPC codes or whatever so that the Animated Voyagers would scan at $10 (like they should) so they wouldn't have to deal with people like me all day.

Throughout my ordeal at Walmart Sunrise Plaza today the girl in charge of the Toy Department tried telling me that Univese Toys are packaged in 3 different boxes and only the Universe 2.0 Packaged figures would be the ones on sale (She even went and got one from the back to try and compare them and make me agree with her).

So I kindly explained that I'm a collector and that the 3 different boxes are for different series or lines with Animated, Movie and Universe stuff all different from one another and I've been collecting way to long for you to try and pull a fast one on me like that.

I then asked to speak with a manager because the flyer clear states Universe OR ANIMATED! and it says right on the box ANIMATED VOYAGER. The regular price matches the flyer! Now this is walmart, guarneteed lowest prices and guarneteed to match prices yet you will not even honor your own sale in your own flyer ? Can you say false advertisment ?

At that point, the Toy Girl changed her tone totally and agreed with me. Then picked up the phone and told the computer people to change the UPC.

Now when I was at St.Jacobs prior to Sunrise, I simply walked up to Customer Serivce and showed her the flyer. She stated the UPC's were different but since the ad clearly said OR ANIMATED VOYAGER as did the boxes, so gave me them for $10 without any trouble.

Animated are not on sale at my local WalMart, only Universe Voyager. After a long discussion with the toy manager and the store manager I was able to get Shockwave for 10$, it wasn't a easy task. The weirdest thing is that they told me that they are going to receive animated stuff in Universe packaging. Therefore those are the ones at 10$ not the regular voyager ones. Could this be true?

Honestly... I don't feel I put that much effort into it. I simply quoted the facts from their flyer and showed the receipt from the other walmart showing I had already bought some at $10. I spent more time literally standing there waiting for a Toy Rep and then waiting for a Manager etc... and then waiting for the Customer Service girl to bypass the UPC, Fill out 3 pieces of paper (1 per toy) and then I finally paid and left.

So all in all, I maybe spent 5 mintues talking then the other 20 standing and waiting. Thankfully I'm self employeed so I gave myself a break since I was late for work after this. :cool:

I argued with customer service, the toy dept manager, and the assistant manager all today and got nothing. The customer service person didn't even believe me that hasbro made the transformer I had in my hand until I flipped the box over and showed her the bloody logo.

I was told by the assistant who to talk to since this is from what I can tell false advertising on their part. The district manager will be getting a nice phone call from me on monday morning.

Seriously, how f*cking difficult is it for these people to actually think on their own. It says universe OR animated voyager class figures. Both "animated" and "voyager class" is listed clearly on the box. The fact that the flyer itself only lists one code number should be a give away that there's something missing in the computer system. And yet, despite logic and general good customer service skills suggesting that you would give the customer what is stated in your adds, even the assistant manager just sat and gave me the story that they can only go off of what they've got in the computer.

I went to two different Walmarts today. Didn't have much of an issue getting the discount on the TFA Voyagers I wanted. At the first Walmart, the cashier had to call two people before I got my Starscream for $10. At the second Walmart, the cashier needed assistance in making sure if Blitzwing was a "figure". Lol. This second Walmart was easier to work with, as their endcap with the TFU Voyagers had listed "or Animated Voyagers", so there was two proofs in my favor. :) Also, the cashier was nice enough to believe it, as she only called someone to override the register to adjust the price.

Is Walmart still jammed packed with chaotic customers that drive all those sales person crazy? But that depends which Walmart. Last week, there was one Walmart that has so less people that there was no line at the cashier while another was jammed packed with customers and each line had a line.

I never heard one story that a store refused to price match their own item that they advertised in their flyer. Walmart is so far the first big retailer I heard that DON'T price match their own flyer. I bet Walmart don't even know what they were thinking when they were listening to a complaint by a customer. Wait, not one, but mostly, all.

I bet they are not even paying attention to what everybody is saying. As I said, who would ever "Refuse" Ad Match their on "Ad"? Walmart just went from good, to crazy, and insane.
