I prefer the original version. With iGear's upgrade kit, he'll be more than perfect. The box is pretty cool though.

Takara has caught the hot toys disease. everybody run for your lives!!!

(for those of you who don't know, hot toys produces 1/6th scale figures and have revently been doing a lot of batman figures. First there was the joker, then the bank robber joker (a second, much better version), and then they announced an mms-dx line of "deluxe" figures (as opposed to the mms line). There first and second releases are new verisons of batman and the joker which have rolling eyes for added realism, new heads, etc... Hence with this being the mp-08X version, it is like the 'dx' version of the batman figures. Similarly, the new box for this one reminds me of the bank robber joker box compared to the original V1 joker box. )


Also, for me this is an easy pass I think. As much as I like Grimlock, I'm not going to rebuy him just for the crown, and to be honest I'm not a big fan of the new box art. It's a nice touch, but it's definitley not a masterpecie line box imo. There's something classy about the current mp line boxes that is missing with the walmart starscream and now this box. It's not that it's a bad box by any means, but it's just not what I would have gone with

I hear statements like this about a lot iGear's products but I've yet to see someone have any iGear products in their hands.

iGear never ever stated a single release date, they just announced upcoming products. I chat with yizhi daily. If he says it's coming, then it's coming. Only BBTS tried to put a release date on the Autoscout tape and yizhi doesn't even know how they came up with that date.

Btw, about that MP Magnus trailer, I was wrong, it was not an iGear product, but somehow, it sounds like it was going to be distributed by them.

The DX line of figures are all new though. The costumes have been redone to be more accurate to the film. Not to mention you get two complete outfits, heads, hands, and feet with Joker, so the only thing you have to buy is a $30 True Type body to have two new figures (one police version and one regular version. This Grimlock is just a repaint with one new accessory and a new box.
