At TRU the receipt only lists the SKU codes and not the UPC, so any 'Voyager' figure from the same line will scan the same, and so on.

For Zellers I think when they scan it in, the employee compares SKUs too even though the UPC is listed on the receipt.

Sears also has the generic codes on their receipts for figures.

I don't see a lot of places that have each individual toy's UPC...

Even if there was a full description of the toy, I don't think the average store clerk knows or cares about what transformer is in the box as long as it looks like it fits in the box.

Can you imagine if they put the toy back on the shelf and a kid gets something like a regular Prowl in Samurai Prowl packaging? It's not cool.
