TELETOON Retro to Air 24 Hour G1 Transformers Marathon

On Saturday, June 13, TELETOON Retro (http://news.toonzone.net/articles/29895/teletoon-releases-june-2009-programming-highlights) will air a 24-hour Transformers Generation 1 marathon. Fans can catch the first 48 episodes of the classic 1980s series between 9 am ET on Saturday, June 13 and 9 am ET on Sunday, June 14. The Canadian cable television specialty-channel will be running the marathon to coincide with the release of Revenge Of The Fallen a few weeks later.

I hope it rains so I can stay in, clean the house, do the laundry, cut my toenails AND watch TF G1 ALL FREAKIN DAY (minus bathroom breaks and the occasional naps...so, which ones should I sleep through???)

Also wondering, will they play them in the order they were produced, how they aired originally, or will they choose haphazardly? And why isn't TF in the "Shows" listing on TTRetro?

I'm not sure you will have to wait too long the DVD season 1 release date is June 16th.

I really hope Teletoon Retro adds TF to the regular line up, but I have some doubts. I recall a few years back Teletoon airing The Real Ghostbusters, but only for the week leading to Halloween and then they pulled the plug.

Awesome! my basic Rogers Cable has Teletoon Retro on free preview still (been 1.5 years so hope they don't pull the plug soon!). My computer will be very busy recording. My kids will jump with glee after I edit all the episodes and burn them onto DVD so they can just pop the DVDs in and watch without commercials. Will give them something cool to watch during the summer school break. :)

I was just checkling the Illico guide, and it seems that other shows will be airing from 9pm... Wasn't this supposed to be 24 hours...?
Also, I haven't been watching all day, but it seems that they've been playing eps in order, but it doesn't add up... They played All of Season 1 from 9am to 7:30pm. So that adds up to 19 eps... But I thought that Season 1 was 16 eps... Did they air something else in between?

You are right Season 1 is 16 episodes. They aired from 9am to 5pm. Season 2 started with Autobot Spike at 5pm. EST

Thanks for the info. I had mistakenly thought Season 2 started when the newer character of G1 (pre-movie) were introduced.....;)

You know, there ought to be a drinking came for how often Spike and Sparkplug get abducted and need rescuing per episode. The Dinobot Island episode is especially ridiculous--Spike stays safe for all of one minute before his ass gets napped again.

I didn't get to catch too many of them, but, it sure was fun to see the shows on TV once again. It was also nice to have a reason to actually watch Teletoon Retro.

I also was quite surprised at the broadcast quality of the show...I figured that they'd be pretty rough after nearly a quarter century!

I recorded all and am currently working on editing them and putting 3 episodes on a DVD at a time. My kids (boy age 9 and girl age 4)have seen More Than Meets The Eye so far. Can't believe how quite the kids were!

Season one has been released on DVD (don't know about the quality on this new release) and came out on June 16th for a decent price. Around $25 at Future Shop and around $20 at Best Buy from what I could find on-line. Good alternate for those that couldn't record.

Am I that transparent? :p My daughter is getting a bunch of Animated figures for her 5th birthday from the Zellers sale. The kids are loving the DVDs I made. And um.. so am I. ;)
