They announced that they're no longer price matching competitors. But there's no reason that they shouldn't still fix their own prices if there's a discrepancy between the in-store price and the online price when it's the same item and coming from Walmart and not a 3rd party website seller.

I don't recall a country wide discount on those. They were never discounted in my area and they did sell well enough.

I can confirm from personal experience that Walmart will not even match their own online price (not a 3rd party seller). I think at this point they will only do price corrections on in store sales and price rollbacks.
