Victory Saber will probably be the first real test of the aftermarket for a Haslab.

The lower backing price, combined with the "niche" aspect of the character makes for an interesting mix of perceived "value."

Jabba's Sail Barge, Unicron, Sentinel, Razor Crest and Galactus are all big, well known, and desirable showcase pieces. The first two also have the added value of being produced in much smaller numbers than the last three by as much as 60%.

Victory Saber is less well known, especially outside of Asia (Japan). He is small, in comparison to the other projects, and his price is low.

So does that translate into a similar pattern for the aftermarket like the others, or will we see less of a bump? If the TF fandom is any indication I think we might see less aftermarket value compared to the other Haslab projects. There seems to be less enthusiasm about the project.

Victory Leo (with that big gun) looks like something I would pay leader prices for at retail.
Star Saber looks like something I would pay commander prices for at retail (I can see a comparison to Rodimus Prime, for instance in terms of what's involved in it)
Then you have a custom limited stand and a micromaster set both of which we can price even more easily than the rest.

With all that added together, I still feel I am overpaying about $30-40.

But I then chomp that off to saying that I am getting a limited item and as with other limited items, there is a price to offset the limited factor. So I am comfortable with what I paid. Granted I don't care to pay more to have something limited, but in the end that was the price Hasbro was comfortable selling this toy to us and I was comfortable paying for it.

But yeah, I would never call it great value. You are paying for exactly what you are getting.
Sounds about right, yeah. Glad I'm not the only one seeing it that way.

And unlike Unicron, the lower price made it feasable for everyone hoping to make an extra buck to buy more than 1 in hope to resell it later. So there will definitely be more product available on the aftermarket for this than any other Haslab product before it. That said, I could see someone paying $500 CAD on the aftermarket (which I think might be around the number you also had in mind). That number is not as crazy as it once was for exclusive collectibles.
