Re: Hasbro vs. Takara Masterpiece Starscream

Hands down for Hasbro for me! With the current Canadian dollar situation vs. USD its practical to go with the MP Hasbro.

Thanks for the comparison. I haven't transformed it yet but I notice the wing tip is colored green on both sides while on the box is like Takara. One red and one green. Is that a QC error?

My new 'Screamer has two green wing tips. I expect this is simply one of the (very) minor deco differences.

All in all, this figure is awesome in both modes. Joints are super tight and everything pegs together exceptionally well. Much better than previous versions of this mold I have experienced.

Man my Hasbro Starscream is full of seriously ugly plastic nip mark all over, especially the red plastic parts.

I have heard of a hair dryer trick for this. Has anyone here actually used one to fix these kind of issues?

MP-22 Ultra Magnus was the same way, especially on the forearms. Some have said they simply took their fingernails to pinch them off. You could also try using the flatter edge of nail clippers or if you have a snipping tool from a hobby shop that some people like to use when removing pieces from a sprue kit, that should also work well.

The problem is..When I built model, I know how and where to cut. But my Hasbro MP Starscream looks like its parts are ripped instead of cut with a precision nipper.

Also why the hell is the blue nosecone not painted the same blue as with the rest of the body. That plain blue plastic nosecone is..not really the best looking colour...

I will try to smooth out the area with modelling files and sanding sticks. I may have to touch up area with Gundam markers too. But I am already working on my WFC Megatron custom works so Starcream will have to wait..or never...
