Toy prices expected to rise more

https://www.ctvnews.ca/lifestyle/top...ason-1.5565922

TLDR; Hasbro has secured shipping for this holiday but price of shipping has gone up from 3,200 to 22,000 per container.

That's pretty insane, and the cost of materials and labour has gone up across the board too. If you're doing a reno, you'd know they can't even quote you prices because the cost of materials fluctuates so much each day due to shipping and handling.

It almost make no difference for me, since I gave up on official ones because the price is already ridiculous.

Damn. If prices go up any more and QC remains as it is, I'm going to be priced out of this hobby.

Yup, just not toys, one fella I spoke to said same thing shipping container went up from $3K to $16K from China for flooring materials. Makes you think that if manufacturing was brought back to North America, it would be cheaper now? Also shipping for some toys I ordered which once was just about $50 went up to $200, lol from Japan.

Re: Toy prices expected to rise more

THE END TIMES ARE HERE!!!!!!!!

Honestly though I am slowly turning to just select purchases that really speak to me, and away from collecting "lines". Now that isn't true for everything yet (GI Joe Classified), but I have all but abandoned SW. TF and ML get a good chunk of funds still, but much less than before the WFC trilogy, and will definitely be less next year.

The scary part is that I am starting to find more and more value in the higher priced items across the board. Which is inherently designed to make me buy less "quantity".

I wonder if prices will ever go down once things settle and production/shipping costs, or simple greed will keep prices the same.

I'm so glad we sacrificed 4.5 million people so the line could keep going up!

After reading this, I thought "well, i can always buy used and second hand. Then I laughed.

The trickle down factor is a thing.
