Where are you getting your numbers? I'm curious as I haven't seen anything to indicate such.
I know that a lot of fans did accept the price hike with Siege due to a return to better quality and seeing figures that actually look "right", but more are either active fans/buyers already, and some are old fans that took some time away due to the crap quality of previous lines and were pulled BACK with Siege, but not many have been "new" fans as far as I've seem across the forums and the groups. But with ER and now Kingdom dropping quality again, and Kingdom's main appeal is to the Beast war fans (which isn't close to the numbers of the G1 lines) things are getting back to having fans starting to move away again.
The SS86 hasn't pulled any new fans as far as I've seen, the line is just selling well to the fans of the WFC, not new ones.
But I have seen a fair number of fans that are selling their whole collection, INCLUDING Siege/ER and the few Kingdom (if they got any) and stating that they are out because of prices and hardship to get figures that it's soured them away from the hobby completely.
Some are also just trimming down and want to have a set number of figures/characters and are tired of the chase and the expenses.
