Re: Is anyone using an Ikea PAX wardrobe as a display cabinet?
Moving next month into a house and looking for a new way to display the collection. Currently using detolfs but I feel like I'm somewhat limited by them just as they feel like a lot of wasted space.
The Pax looks pretty cool but may be a bit deeper than I was looking for.
Curious if anyone has their collection in the billy bookcases with glass doors?
Also looking at the BestA system but seems a bit on the pricier side.
Any other suggestions out there?

There's a company that does custom retail displays. They will deliver and assemble, not sure about coquitlam. Here's one they did for me, surprisingly cheap

Nice! I was looking at maybe getting a custom unit done. Do you have a link or name of the company so I can look them up?
How is the glass? I can't tell if it's the angle of the picture but that top panel seems to be starting to sag a little? And how much did it cost approx?
Also I may have to worry about moving it say 10 years down the road if I'm regulated to the basement haha. How easy would it be to move?

Re: Is anyone using an Ikea PAX wardrobe as a display cabinet?
the glass is 10mm I believe. It had to be brought in piece by piece and assembled in the room. The back panel alone was about 200lbs so its a permanent resident in that room now. This particular one was $1650 (6ftx6ft with led lights and storage in the base). Of course it can be whatever dimension with more or less shelves. If you are seriously interested, I can pm you the details

That case looks sweet!!! As for the billy cases I think they are a better and cheaper alternative if you dont want detolfs. I was thinking about getting one too but I rather just get more toys. Heh, heh, heh.

Thanks, I'll have to let you know. Spot where my main collection is going may not be permanent. So will have to do some planning once we move in. But there is another spot where I'd like a custom display but need to do some measurements there too

For the billy cases if they aren't bad. I really do need to stop by and look at them in person again though. Do you have any pics of yours to share?

Did you ever get your PAX units Sir Prime A Lot? If so, how did they turn out?
