Goo Gone and my Mirage
I'm taking off the decals on my G1 Mirage. Before I use Goo Gone on it will it ruin the chrome or paint? I'm especially talking about the chrome on the spoilers, the white paint at the front and the painted on "26 Citanes" Thanks!

Re: Goo Gone and my Mirage
I have not tried Goo Gone on chrome b4, but be very careful. I'm sure it's similar to paint, and could affect it. if you have a junker character with chrome on them, I suggest testing the Goo Gone first.

Ok thanks! I'll probably just use a little soap and water to be on the safe side...

Re: Goo Gone and my Mirage
as for sticker removal, if you do use goo gone, make sure to remove as much of the sticker as possible.
i've tried removing masking tape from a machined metal surface with that stuff, and it'll dissolve the glue, but it wouldnt go through the tape at all.
but as suggested, test it out first. there's no sense making paint turn a different colour, or eating through chrome if you dont have to.

Thanks! I actually did remove all the stickers first. I haven't gotten around to the cleaning portion yet but to be on the safe side I won't use any on the chrome or paint.

Re: Goo Gone and my Mirage
use lighter fluid as in zippo fluid. kills the goo quick. It can stain so wipe it off very well.
I would personally use lighterfluid over goo gone.
Oh and don't smoek while doing it this way if you do.

Re: Goo Gone and my Mirage
Yes I agree with the zippo lighter fluid... we sell them at work & I use it for cleaning now and then its great for sticky stuff! It should work like a charm with old tf stickers... If you are worried about any side effect damage simply don't use too much of whatever you are using and then have a cloth with water ready to go after words and give it a wipe down ...

Re: Goo Gone and my Mirage
just keep that stuff with the bleach and other cleaners. the bottle as it is looks too much like a soft drink.

Awesome where did you buy it? I have never seen that before.
Also anyone know any tricks for cleaning up a Jetfire from its yellowing?
