Official Mortal Kombat Film Reboot Thread
This link has a very short and cryptic article - as well as one hell of a video clip. I don't know what this is all about but as a fan of old-school MK games, this blew me away!
And Jeri Ryan as Sonya?
Caution though, the video does have a bit of gore.

Re: Official Mortal Kombat Film Reboot Thread
Seen it with my brother and we both love this trailer.I do hope that Warner does officially pick this up,and from what I've heard so far, this realistic movie of Mortal Kombat will be incredible and interesting,if they tweaked their dialogue a bit more, this may compete with The Dark Knight in terms of all-time favourite Franchise Films.
EDIT:My sister saw it and Fangasmed for it.Now all three of us wait for that movie to finally appear.

This man really knows his MK. I love how he said he would draw from MK 1-3. I think that's when MK games were at their "purist." Well, 3 started getting carried away but # 1 and 2 for sure.
Quick WB, pick this guy up!! You will make money. Quickly now, before Platinum Dunes starts getting ideas...
Kung Lao has always been my favorite fighter, so I would love to see how he would turn out.

I was extremely happy when I know that we're dealing with a guy who not only does his research, but is an absolute Fan of the games.Told my sister the highlights of the interview, and we both agreed that the first three games should be the focus of the movie(s),everything else after that was going downhill after.
Kung Lao has always been my favourite character since playing MK II after Kitana.I was looking at the new game trailer today and am curious if he'll be in the movie. It seems likely, and I am interested with how the crew will handle this very awesome character.

Re: Official Mortal Kombat Film Reboot Thread
Was anyone else waiting for some head to pop up from the bottom of the screen yelling "Toasty!" during the entire clip?

TeeHee-ous!
In the Mortal Kombat movie song when the characters' names are being said, I used to add 'Incroyus' who's based on a genius I worked with.
Tell the producer he has my permission to add Incroyus to the movie.

Re: Official Mortal Kombat Film Reboot Thread
Yeah, this looks alright, but I'm skeptical. A trailer can make anything look good.

I thought MK4 had its merits. Good story, and a touch of fighting in the third dimension. And it kept all the classic mechanics of MK fighting too. My opinion is that anything after MK4 is very shaky.

But it's not a typical trailer in that it does not follow the "format" of movie trailers. It was almost like an introduction or a prologue.
