You gentlemen are correct.

I was able to do a price adjustment earlier this year after the new 30 day return policy was changed, but I did it when the item was on sale and the employee at customer service did it anyway.

So the proper way, if you are passed the 30 days, but within the 90 days and you bought the item as an R Club member is to bring in the original receipt when it is actually on sale. At that point, they return it to you and than you buy it back at the current sale price.

That sounds like a really weird policy. I've had the same with costco on a certain product so I ended up walking inside, buying it at a lower price and then return the newly purchased, identical item, at the original price with the original receipt (since I didn't bring the actual product with me)
