Canadian F1 Grand Prix

So who watched this on tv? Who here went to the event in Montreal?

Matrix, what an amazing race.
That pace car driver sure got his year's worth of mileage! Hamilton was awesome, but Sato was on fire! The guy was unstoppable!

Alonso is lucky there aint a rule saying you need to deserve the points you get, or he'd be disqualified.

Poor Fisi and Massa for getting DQ'd, but it was worth it just to hear Jaun Pablo Montoya's name in F1 again.

Watching the event on TV is for suckers...

I may not be too happy with the results, but I'm very much relieved to hear that Kubica is alright. Seeing his crash in person was frightening. I'm honestly surprised he walked away. If that's not a testament to the safety of modern F1 cars, I don't know what is.

Jetfire, where were you sitting? At the crash hairpin?

And what happened to Kimi to start so far back? Did he Qualy badly or did he pull an Alonso and take the scenic route through the grass?

I was there live and Sato made me so happy, Lewis may have finished 1st, but Sato was the winner of that race. The last time he got something even CLOSE to 6th place was in 2004, more then 3 years ago. But this time he did it doing an amazing outside pass on the former F1 champ Alonso.

Sato was on fire for the whole race. He was passing people earlier too.
What happened in his pit stop when they made him wait again and he lost positions?

Anyway, after halfway he was faster than Raikonnen and pulling away from him. Then he passed Schumacher Junior, and then outside on Alonso.

Aguri needs to extend a fat contract on him, same with BMW for Heidfeld or risk losing these amazing talents to the competition.

He got a time penalty cause he left about .5 seconds before his pit crew came him the OK. Then he staled his engine has a result.

I forgot, he passed Raikonnen too. I think the tv only showed afterwards when Raik tried to repass him, but Sato was too fast. Then he started to pull away.

No wonder Massa got himself purposely DQ'd!

Yes. I was on the opposite side of the barrier he crashed into.

On a lighter note, Kimi's low starting position on the grid was due to having a heavily fuelled car in qualifying. Or at least that's what I've heard/I'm assuming. When you're at the track in person, with the cars racing by you, you can't even begin to hear the race commentary over the PA system even if you try.

Actually, most accidents look much worse than Dale's; but even the tamest 1's can't survive a broken seat belt.
You were there?

Yah, I was scared when I saw Kubica's wreck. While many of Montreal's accident's were down to bad driving, Kubica's was a racing incident.
So glad he's alive and very okay.

I don't understand what's happening with Kimi. He's a great driver and the Ferrari is 1 of top 2 cars, but his results are weak.
At least Massa looks like he's sincerely trying. I'm sure he woulda passed Alonso if he hadn't DQ'd.
