At your guideline, deluxes would have to be $7.96 pre-tax, and voyagers to be $17.69 pre-tax at retail. Because otherwise I'm "doing it wrong" by buying $10 deluxes at TFCon.
Because I feel TRU 30% off sales are decent enough.
Deluxe => $11.87 + tax = $13.41
Voyager => $20.97 + tax = $23.69

Yup. 30% off or at brown man discounts.
9$ and few odd cents.
20$ and few odd cents.
edit: Wait I was wrong about the 9$ you're right. 11$ something it is. CAD.

But you're making your own Transformers, so that makes you a SUPAFREAK!

There are lots of female TF fans out there but I read that this was a guy, who cleared it with his wife before making the purchase.

I read he bid on his new house. Smart peeps go for lower price.
I bet the money came partially, if not entirely, from it.

Re: How big of a Transformers fan are you?
I love Transformers but it isn't my primary interest and it's an on/off interest for me. Though I've bought a fair amount of toys (haven't counted exactly how many), my iPhone case has a Decepticon logo (which in turn made me name my phone "Laserbeak"), and I have a silver luxury car I call "Soundwave" which I like to consider as my guardian.

Re: How big of a Transformers fan are you?
It's a tough thing to qualify I suppose. In terms of overall knowledge about the property, with Michael Bay as a 1 and the god damn Protoman as a 10, I'm probably a 6.5. I know very little about the Japanese and comic series, but pretty well good with the North America Cartoon series.
First and foremost I'm a toy collector, so I would say that I have 90% of the MOLDS that have been released since Beast Wars. (not including the kid stuff that came out Post movie). That said I have passed on a lot of the newer stuff (and Masterpiece stuff) as I just do not have the funds to do it any longer.
I'm also a big enough fan to NOT love the direction that the franchise is heading in..
