Likewise.
The most I've spent on a single new toy was $350-400 after shipping, considering the exchange at the time.
It was the Tamashii Online Webshop exclusive Gold Chogokin Aquarion. ~21500yen for the item itself, 7500 for EMS shipping. Exchange rate at the time was about ~80yen per CDN dollar.

And this was a case where I got a buddy living in Japan to order for me, so there was no commision or additional fees. Imagine if I had gotten it from a proxy buyer or other online store...

A little bit back on topic: the Metal Gear Rex is SICK. I'd love to have that, as big of a Metal Gear fan that I am, but right now, I really can't justify that kind of purchase. Which is probably a good thing... for my wallet.

The direct preorder from them sold out in about 24 hours I believe. Maybe they'll do a Metal Gear Ray, to match the Rex.
No choice. Bambaland was a 24hr sale thing and sold out. I had to resort to online since I missed the March, 4rth I think, pre-order date at Bambaland.
Besides, I went with Sideshow Collectibles, which is whom 3A has set as, from what I understand, their "official" website retailer, aside from Bambaland.

Re: Well, I did it. I am buying my most expensive toy to date

Most expensive toy I ever ordered was the SDF-1, which was about $340 give or take. However, it was ordered at the same time as the MP-10 from the same retailer, so my entire order was well in excess of $600 CAD after shipping.

Once you break that sort of barrier, it sets a whole new dangerous standard.

$200 seems to be my expensive toy ceiling.

MP4 Convoy, the FP-TFCON PC armor and FP-CC armor with Classics UM were all bought sepearately for about that much each.

The most I ever spent on a TF toy was under 300 and on rare occasion so for the Rex I can more so justify it cause it's a rare buy, in respects to toys I buy. I think as far as expensive goes my LOTR Balrog and Fort Max (the CR version not G1) were up there. That's really about it.

The most expensive toy I ever bought was a 1:1 scale sub-urban fortress with functioning gas, water, and electricity. What it lacks in action features like launching missiles and a moat, it makes up for in the fact that its well insulated from the elements and has a really nice training ground behind it.
