Re: ToysRUs.ca Transformers Sightings and discussion

Love this collabo.

Would rather pay for this than the xmen crossover monstrosity.

I bought one, didn't flinch at the price.

Still out of stock.

They def don't sit on the shelves for very long...

The ectos sat at my TRU for over a week. Thrust/Runabout came in exact same shipment and were gone in hours. It wasnt until 8-9 days after that the last ecto finally got bought. Surprising considering it was the first ones and i posted in our Facebook group they were there and like here the majority of the people just said "meh"

Honestly, no clue why people would be interested in paying $90 for a figure when it's still available at EB (minus the extra accessory and the comic) for $60.

Yup, the old version can also be considered nicer if you prefer the clean look, and it has cool g1 packaging.

Seems like they're trying to get MISB collectors to double dip by releasing packaged figures in both robot and alt modes.

If you purchased your Kingdom and Earthrise bots recently via online order, you can ask for a price match via their chat. It's pretty painless process and I give TRU a thumbs up for this. It really saves me time going to the store. I might even hit a few for any in store stock given the pricing right now.

Meh.

To each their own.

They are not shelf warming though.

Only seen on a shelf once and I bought one.

And sold out online.

I'd say that's fairly indicative over personal preference.

At least in BC, they are in high demand.

Yeah, for sure. I was a little hesitant on the price for the original one, but ended up liking it a fair bit once I had it in hand.

I just wonder now what the market is for this new one given that a lot of people would've rushed and gotten the original from EB and because it's like $30 more expensive for the "privilege" of a slightly different head, an extra rubbery ghost figure, some distressed paint, and a comic book. Especially since there were 2 waves of the first version which would've given people ample time to pre-order it on the second go-round and not have to just fight the horde and stock randomness like you do with TRU.

If there are people that are huge Ghostbusters fans that missed the first one I can almost see the appeal, but that price tag on a Voyager class figure. That's a steep commitment.
