Problem with TRU MP Rodimus -- Broken out of package TWICE - Cybertron.CA - Canadian Transformers News and Discussion

Yesterday I picked up the Hasbro TRU release of MP Rodimus. I took it gently out of the package, but the right arm didn't come with it. In the package, it had snapped off at the ratcheting shoulder joint. It was impossible to see through the box window since the fracture occurred inside the joint.

I boxed the figure up and took it back today to exchange for another one. The SAME THING happened again. Same arm. Same place.

I am very frustrated. Is this a common problem among the TRU MP Rodimus figures?

Should I try another one or try to get my money back to spend on something that doesn't cost $80 and fall apart IN the box?

I got one and it is perfectly fine. Never broke in or out of the box.

My worry is that if I try for a third time, even if the figure is fine, that I'd have the fear that something would happen to it down the line. If the same fracture has occurred twice, that says something about the quality of the plastic, doesn't it? That doesn't bode well over time.

It might be possible that they came off the same date of mfg line and that batch was bad. I bought one here (toronto) and one from the US and both came with no quality problems at all.

I had the same issue! The pin that holds his shoulder in place was not pushed fully into place so as soon as his arm moved all the pressure was placed on one half of the hinge and SNAP. The pin can be seen through the top of the package so if you see anything other than just the very end don't buy it!

Same thing happened to me! I returned it and eventually bought another one, and that one was fine. I think it just must have been a certain run of those figures. The one I have now has no problems at all!

Man it hurts when these MPs break... My MP Starscream broke at the wing hinger and I almost cried... or maybe I actually did fall down to my knees and cry out "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!" with the broken pieces clutched in my tear soaked fists, held up to the heavens...

yes I had a problem but it was his face breaking off and not his arm.
