Re: The Transformers VENTING Thread
“Battle Damaged” Transformers are awful.
Makes the toys look used.
Further horr-awful is that they use the same battle damage pattern across the same mould design.

In theory so were Prowl and Silverbolt, albeit, not hugely canonized in anything but FunPub comics. Or was it in the Dreamwave stuff?
Mind you the FunPub stuff is... questionable at best, even if you discount it as canon.
I don't mind reuse of names.

This. I don't know if Siege Springer is a good toy or not, because he looks horrible. Skytread and a couple others barely have any, or its very specifically applied. But the ones with it spattered all over...

Same
I was also miffed because I had one in-hand at the store, and I noticed that his autobot symbol was slightly off-centre on his chest
Noticed literally every copy of him has this, it was lit printed that way
That plus the muck on his very visible shoulders? Nope, I'll go get that old T30 Springer instead, or the LG or whatever (T30 Sandstorm is awesome)

My Seige Springer has super weak knees. Standing him up is a balancing act. I wish I had done the T30 instead.

T30 Springer is one of my favorite transformer toys, ever. It also exemplifies to me why being totally slavish to the original toys or animation. I like new takes. But anyway, as a big Springer fan, yeah, I was really bummed out by how gross he looks.

Having never handled him, only going by reports. Several friends have noted the same issue. *shrug*

And what's up with reviewers and their gangly coke-ified nails? Damn, that shit is naaaasty.

Hahaha...okay, so I'm not the only one that thought the same thing about some of the reviewers.

Is it me, or did the MP line become needlessly fiddly?
The other night I was messing with my MP Tracks and thought, "Did they really need to use these huge shin panels to achieve this look?"
And it doesn't end with him. Just watching reviews of new MP's and seeing all these tiny, thin, presumably fragile little flaps and such that you need to fold away and just makes me think that they are making the figures pointlessly complex just to drive up the price.
I'm sure they could achieve the same results without needing 350 transformation steps.

Same, and/or similar.
I love the MPs. I dislike the direction they have taken.
As a kid, I would look at vehicles in real life and imagine how they would transform into a robot. That was/is a huge part of my wonderment of the Transformers. "Robots in disguise", right?
With MP-10, they gave alt-mode Optimus a real-world appearance, and the bot-mode is an excellent semblance of the G1 cartoon, without being cartoon-ish. I really like that MP-10 was really how a real-life transformer might appear. I dislike the direction of moving to cartoon-finished MPs. I feel like cartoon-finish diminishes from my concept of "Masterpiece".
Sure, I doubt there are/were any real-life F-15 coloured like the seekers, but at least the finishes did not appear overly cartoonish.
I wish they would have both the real-life and cartoon+ finishes for the MPs. I'm having a harder time wanting the line as they move on. I wish Hound was a darker green.
I am excited but concerned about the upcoming release of Skids. I have read that the design elements might not be as Masterpiece-esque as previous MP -- that it might seem more like an Alternator. I might not mind that as much, depending on how it is done. We will see...
