Re: Which TF freebie/bonus was your favourite?
I liked the Collector Cards that came with Combiner Wars, Power of the Primes and Energon Transformers.

I liked the iron on robot patches that came with the G1 bubble packed bots ,the rubber decoys were also brilliant, the assemble together movie poster that had glow in the dark figures impregnated into it from 86 movie, more recently I would have to say the trading cards wish hasbro would go back to robot points and mail in offers ..... miss those days of innovation in hooking you to buy sales technique

Power of the Primes ramped up the card collecting with all the different "13 Prime effects" on each release figure - I never went nuts trying to collect them all or anything, but it was neat to see which ones I ended up with, a fun little lark
Unite Warriors & Takara Legends figures releasing with those cool mini-comics, were always fun to read (even if I had to look up the scan-lations online, natch)
And of course, those old G1 fold-out catalogues! It was so awesome pre-internet, to have that little pictorial database of all the figures you COULD have
Generating the hype for FortMax even if you never saw him in stores ever!

No love for the bonus minicons? Although that's debatable.
I remember some Primuses came with extra minicons

Re: Which TF freebie/bonus was your favourite?
Chalk me up as another fan of the G1 folded toy catalogs. I must have spent countless hours as a youngster analyzing each figure in the photos, trying to figure out which part would go where during transformation. They felt like the old-school Christmas Wish Books, except showcasing just Transformers... and they were a lot more portable, for obvious reasons.
A second favorite was the red plastic "Tech Specs Decoder" strip, for some creative reasons outside of "decoding" the readouts on the toys' packaging. Around Gr. 4 in school, I first learned some early lessons about cryptography - pretty basic codes and ciphers, and other methods of concealing written messages. One of them was writing a message in regular pen (black or blue), and using a red pen to mark up every letter so that it would be hard to read. Once you lay the piece of red cellophane over the paper, the message is revealed. Exact same principle as the G1 Tech Specs.

Oh Matrix, THIS!!!
I didn?t have many toys so I didn?t have the season 1 catalog, but I still saved the toy store flyers to study and draw.
Wonderful times as a young fan, just priceless.
In recenter years, I?d say Energon comics, Cyebertron wave catalogs and posters.
And I loved the sturdy twist ties. I reused several for my Ultra Magnus costume, for added TF origin.
