Re: cosmic dust???
What the hell...... I dunno man. I am checking all of mine now, nothing (Loose, MOC). This some kind of crazy Calgary atmosphere thng? =P Do you have any Movie-verse ones or Universe packaging ones. So far the only examples you have shown have been early Robot Heroes.

Re: cosmic dust???
What the hell chans? Mine are all free, and look normal... but I am tempted to seal up a few and see what happens.

yup. freshly cracked open about 10 minutes ago.
the left prime didn't get too bad of a dusting but the other one is caked.the right side one is the one that comes with scorponok. i know scorponok is covered too,but it's not as noticable because he's grey in color.
before cleaning
and after

Re: cosmic dust???
Perhaps they are dried out. Otis, does it come off like dust would to the touch? Or does it take a little rubbing to get it off?
Edit: that last sentence is giggity.

Re: cosmic dust???
My theory is that it's temperature related.
Did you let them freeze in storage anywhere?

just touching it doesn't remove it.you have to rub it pretty hard to get it off ...even more giggity-goo

these have never been frozen.they have always been in my collection room in the basement which is always kept at a nice 21.5 degrees.i also have some mosc heroes of cybertron pvc's which were always kept in the same box with these mosc robot heroes.some of them are a few years older than these r/h's,yet none of them have the dusting.same box, same room, same temp.after looking at some other loose displayed rh's,i'm inclined to believe it only affects robotheroes. i have an extra g1 megs in bot mode in a glassed in detolf shelf "side by side" with robot heroes g1 ravage.ravage is coated to the point that he looks like i painted him grey.megs on the other hand is still spotless and dust free.

Re: cosmic dust???
It's a conspiracy by Hasbro to make collectors open their Transformers. A year from now all MOC ROTF and Universe figures will be getting...Space dusty.

Re: cosmic dust???
I'm thinking these guys are molded a little different than your standard TF, and I think their plastic is a bit softer. I believe what you have there is release agent residue that goes foggy after time. OR, and this one is very possible. When you use super glue or a glue of that type, the plastic around the glued area gets foggy. and only after scrubbing it with water does it come off. So this could be a clear coat or something gone wrong.
