Re: A cool Value Village find ! ^_^
Kitchener (Ottawa): Sweet bag of Digimon Digivolvers up at the front for $4. Looked to be in good shape, too. Would have bought them had I not just gotten rid of my Digimon. There's two bags of TFs in the back -- one a movie Prime and one with Crossover Spider-Man motorcycle and an Animated Swindle missing an arm. Didn't buy them, so still there. Picked up some Mighty Muggs.
Kitchener (Sportsworld): Animated Leader Megatron for $3 on the shelves in the back. Missing the rotor blades and the cannon, but looks like the rest is there and electronics work. I don't need another one, so it's still there. Also, there's a BW Transquito in a bag on the pegs near the CDs. Didn't appear to be missing anything except the missile.

Re: A cool Value Village find ! ^_^
Finally, the Value Village Cycle of disappointment has been broken for me!
Not a large haul by any means, but I was able to land myself the Optimus from the DotM Twopack with Comettor (it's the HFTD Voyager with hooks and the mouth showing) for $4. Damn, he is an impressive figure.
But I suspect now it'll be back to the VV Cycle of Disappointment again:
1. See that the VV Thread has been updated.
2. Read incredible tales of a wonderful haul.
3. Get incredibly pumped to check the local VV.
4. Go out of the way to reach the local VV and check.
5. Come out empty-handed and depressed.
6. Wait until #1 happens again, and repeat in an endless cycle of torture.

Yep.
I had a friend who worked at a VV, and she'd often have stories about people like us hitting up the store every day hoping to find 600 dollar toys for nothing, and then getting all butthurt when we ended up leaving empty handed on account of Value Village being well... Value Village.

Re: A cool Value Village find ! ^_^
If one is going far out of the way to check out the stores they are bound to be disappointed in the end. Its in no way worth specding three hours driving around only to find nothing.
That said I did score around 1000 peices of Star Wars Lego for $15 the other day which was pretty sweet, but it only took an extra 5 minutes out of my day to do so.

Nevermind the $600 toys, I'm going to see if I can pick up specific things in reasonable condition without spending an arm and a leg on shipping.
I mean, if I'm looking for the McDonald's Animated toys, then I'm likely to find them. If I'm looking for an Encore Sky-Lynx, then I highly doubt I'll ever see one.
On the other hand, if I were a customizer, then I'd find much fodder.

Re: A cool Value Village find ! ^_^
Picked up a G1 grapple in great shape but missing his acc. Also had a transmetal cheetor which is good for swapping parts with my original one.
I also found this strange lil' transforming diecast grey jet. I've seen them when I was a wee lad but I have no clue what it is, it's no tf. Labeled 1983 bandai japan.
edit: did some research, looks like it's leader-1 from gobots?

It should become harder and harder like the cycle that previously mentioned. Especially most of us will keep those when we brought those. Only kids who brought those and donated when they dont' like it, which will give "contribution" to the cycle for more toys.
