Re: Your Top 5 Transformers of 2020

Kingdom Cyclonus. I don't find his legs do much in the transformation compared to the rest of his body, but he's pretty much perfect.

Earthrise Grapple. I love his chunky orangeness.

Earthrise Hoist. Tubby green-ness has a lot more flair than Trailbreaker.

Earthrise Sunstreaker. I have a hard time putting him down.

Earthrise Runamuck. He folds up so well and tight it's insane. Even with the fake chest and nothing to cover the back of his legs I think he's easily my favorite of the year.

Honorable mentions go to ER Skylynx, ER Seekers, ER Ratchet/Ironhide, Cliffjumper and moldmates. They're just so freaking solid.

In terms of disappointments, DoubleDealer didn't wow me as much as I thought he would. Neither did Allicon. He's chunky and I love chunky, but the transformation is like one-step simple. The Earthrise Datsun molds don't line up correctly in car mode (Smokescreen seems to line up better than the other two). I want to love him but Warpath is bitch to align correctly in tank mode because his legs keep pulling apart and you need the shield piece to force his legs to stay together. But the way the tank front converts to his legs is some dark magic. Buying ER Optimus for the trailer was a waste of money.

In terms of lack of self control, I should stop buying target masters, battlemasters, micromasters and modulators. I barely play with them but I keep buying them. See you next year when I complain again about it.

As for surprises, I didn't mind Arcee as much as I thought I would. Sure the backpack is atrocious and the car mode is shit, but the bot mode is real nice. I don't remember if I got Apeface in 2020, but I liked him so much I got some Toyhax labels for him. He's dumb and blocky but so fun.

Figures I keep going back to: Seige Hound, Seige Spinister, Siege Astrotrain.

Random thoughts: I spent a surprising amount of money on Toyhax labels aka stickers for adults. I liked Exhaust's color scheme a lot more than Wheeljack's. I wish I had more desk space to put all my figures around me. I hope ER Megatron goes on sale soon. I like his tank mode better but can't justify another 40$ for him. I've had to fix more mushroom pegs with burrs on figures this year than any other. Store exclusives suuuuuuuck.

Geez, I should make a multi-episode YouTube series or something.

Re: Your Top 5 Transformers of 2020

Not in order:

ER Starscream
Rattrap
Blackarachnia
Cheetor
Optimus Primal

I enjoy the BW stuff more, I should buy less G1/other lines tbh.

Cool Re: Your Top 5 Transformers of 2020

#1: ER Sky Lynx. Even went so far as to make a full-blown space-themed photoshoot with him, which you can see here:

#2: Netflix Soundwave, with Ravage and Laserbeak. I don't think I need to say much more.

#3: ER Scorponok. Just may be the best of the Titan-sized figures so far.

#4: ER Optimus Prime, and by extension, "Alternate Universe" (dead) Optimus Prime. Ended up having a LOT of fun re-creating his death scene, and building a coffin for the "dead" Prime.

#5: Netflix Bumblebee. Aside from the obvious appeal of having a poseable 'Bee that's a classic VW Beetle again, it's more special to me because it was a Christmas gift.

Honorable Mentions: Selects Super Megatron, ER Wheeljack, ER Starscream, Galactic Odyssey Ratchet Frenzy/Rumble/blue robot from the Selects Soundwave Spy Patrol set
