Potential paint jobs for a Kotobukiya VFS-01 Garudagear

So I've got a Kotobukiya VFS-01 Garudagear in my BBTS Pile of Loot and I'm having trouble deciding how I'm going to paint it when I finally get around to building it. The obvious answer would be Jetfire, since the kit seems to take a lot of inspiration from the Macross Valkyrie, but I've already got enough Jetfire toys in my collection. Can anyone think of any other Transformers characters that would be suitable for this mould?

Armada Thrust would also work.

The G2 Cyberjets have some interesting colour schemes if you wanna get wild with it. https://tfwiki.net/wiki/Cyberjet

There's a new toy of Armada Starscream coming out, though, so I don't really see the point in making my own. I was hoping to find some character from the comics or other less-mainstream media with a defined personality but no toy.

Re: Potential paint jobs for a Kotobukiya VFS-01 Garudagear

You know, I think it might work as an updated, "Generations-style" Star Saber (from back when Generations had some creativity in their character designs instead of just slavishly re-creating the boxy '80s look.) It wouldn't be able to do the whole combination gimmick of the original, of course, but I think I can make a version that's recognizable as the character.

The existing head is close enough, but I think I can get even closer using leftover parts from my Customize Head set that I bought a while ago. I already made a Starscream-style head with it that I still haven't used (it ended up being too big for the custom I had planned) but the set includes enough parts to make multiple heads and I think I can put something sufficiently Star Sabery together with it. I've seen pictured of the Garudagear model with a Customize Head attached, so I think that the balljoints are compatible, although I don't know if it'll still be able to transform with it on.
