Toys R Us Soundwave vs SDCC 25th anniversary soundwave
I've been wanting to pick up a soundwave re-issue for quite some time now but am unsure which figure is closer to the original. I seen a youtube review of the SDCC 25th anniversary Soundwave, and the reviewer also compares this Soundwave to TRU's reissue. He says that the TRU version has a different sized tape deck on his chest...apparently people were upset or something. He implies the SDCC Soundwave is more accurate. I couldn'treally tell in the video. Does anybody on this site happen to have both, so they can give me a better description...or better yet detailed pictures showing the difference? i'd really appreciate it, thanks.

Re: Toys R Us Soundwave vs SDCC 25th anniversary soundwave
The TRU release has the double depth chest (houses 2 cassettes). The SDCC version has the original chest, holds one cassette. They both have the one piece play/stop buttons, unlike the original which was all separate faux buttons.
The SDCC one is closer to the original than the TRU release.
Also, the SDCC box and promo photos actually show the TRU version, when it fact it's not.

Re: Toys R Us Soundwave vs SDCC 25th anniversary soundwave
I have both. I'd go for the SDCC if you want it closer to the original.
The stickers are already applied and they come with cassette cases to put the tapes in when they are not being used.
However, there is a color difference on SDCC and the original Soundwave.
The SDCC one is darker blue, like navy blue, while the original is more kinda light blue but very vibrant.
The SDCC one is a definate winner, I love stickers already applied and four cassettes and cases too.

Agreed ^ Plus, doesn't TRU SW only come with Laserbeak or Buzzsaw? SDCC Soundwave comes with FOUR tapes, including Ratbat! The cassette cases are also a fantastic addition.

I only have the TRU version and it does indeed have two cassettes and two cassette transparent plastic cases. Laserbeak and Ravage can both fit into his chest at the same time. There is a small sticker sheet to apply stickers to knees, arms, "canons" etc.

I prefer the TRU version because he can hold TWO TAPES!
