Me vs Ebay vs Megatron

Ugh. I tried placing a bid at the very end of an auction for a complete G1 Action Masters Megatron but SURPRISE, instead of validating my bid, Ebay wasted my precious time displaying that message:

Dear Bidder
Please note that the US Consumer Product Safety Commission periodically issues recalls. Please review the CPSC website for specific details on all recalls issued. We also encourage you to check with prospective sellers prior to buying or bidding on items.

All this because of G1 Megatron (the gun). Lost the auction because there was no time left. Gaaaaah.

Hope you don't have the same problem if you ever have to bid on Action Master Shockwave :P

Crappy luck man. At least you know about the message now though.

Good luck for the future.

Re: Me vs Ebay vs Megatron

sucks...it pays to throw in a minimum allowable bid earlier and then get into 1-click bid mode.

To miss because I didn't place the highest bid, I don't mind, but to miss because of a retarded system, I do mind.

Re: Me vs Ebay vs Megatron

you can't always control the environment of which is your hunting grounds..you need to be fast..able to adapt..but even your best efforts..you may not be able to take the shot. The sale ends..there is no red mist or back and to the left...back, and to the left....back, and to the left...etc..But you live to hunt another day.

Re: Me vs Ebay vs Megatron

That's still better than newbies who bid outrageous amounts right at the beginning of the auction and that end up paying way more because they're out of control.
