Re: Amazon.ca Transformers Sightings and discussion

The nonsense around pre-order stuff going out of stock almost the moment links appear makes me glad that I generally don't want in on most of the limited run/specialty sets. Like it's cool that a Beast Wars II character is getting a release, but at the same time it's kind of less impactful because there are no other BWII bots with him. It almost would've been better if they had made Big Convoy part of the Kingdom run and then done a Skywarp/Santon double set (so that you could retool Big Convoy's mammoth mode into Santon's basic elephant).

Instead we get neat but not amazing Airazor-becomes-Skywarp and an earth mode Sideswipe that honestly doesn't look different enough from Siege Cybertronian Skywarp to make me go "OH MY GOD I HAVE TO HAVE THIS AND WILL BRAVE CROSS-BORDER ORDERING, EXCHANGE RATES, AND STICKER SHOCK TO HAVE IT!"

Hasbro out there really making it hard to want to continue being a collector with all the hoops we have to jump through just to get the stuff we might want.

Preorder's up on .ca!

62.99, much better than the current US price.

Mucho thanks!

Given past reliability, I haven’t quite cancelled my .com order yet...

That's way lower than the mirage pack. Just cancelled my .com order and changed to .CA. I hope this isn't a coneheads repeat. Still take my chances as I have siege and if this doesn't come thru no big loss.

Locked in on .ca!

If this actually ships without any hiccups, it'll be my first go with the Sideswipe mould. In for G1 with the BW figs as bonus.

Got mine in.

I just discover this now. I hope it won't get cancelled later.

Re: Amazon.ca Transformers Sightings and discussion

I'm hoping to get these in minty condition, so to avoid the envelope delivery parade or sticker brigade, might just keep the Amazon.com order and take the extra hit. I would have had to pay as Gift to protect them and pay a bit more in any case.

To make sure, Anyone get their Amazon.com orders in poor packaging, or just from Amazon Canada?

It might depend on the seller. I have found that if Amazon (.ca or .com) is the seller, you'll get a box... BUT it depends on the item. I get the impression that orders, when Amazon is the seller, are entered into the system, and some sort of algorithm determines which box to use based on the item(s) in the order. Ever notice those alphanumeric codes (eg. 1A, 1A7, 1B5, etc.) on the flap of the boxes? That code is probably provided to someone to obtain the appropriate-sized box for the order.

Of course, that doesn't mean an employee necessarily follows instruction. Supply or laziness might result in a change in box size or change to envelope or a change to slapping a sticker directly on the product box.

I figure the 'algorithm' concept is why certain items (like boxes of diapers) are noted in the sales listing as "ships in original packaging".

That being said, if the seller is a 3rd party, I think is is random as to what you get --

I recently acquired Sparkless Bot and Deseeus Army Drone via Amazon.com, but from tertiary (non-Amazon) sellers. They were sent in bubble envelopes.

Re: Amazon.ca Transformers Sightings and discussion

The last few bots I ordered, sold and shipped by Amazon, came in bubble envelopes. Going forward, I will check the gift box to push them to pack in a proper box.
