Re: Bonding Plastic?
We have this stuff at work called Bond-aid. Stuff hardens like metal, bonds to metal REALLY well. Can grind it, sand it, drill it, hardens in like 20 minutes and cures over a few hours I think. You can even smack it with a hammer once its cured and the stuff more or less deforms like metal. Its like that mighty-putty stuff, though it does have MSDS sheets so that it at least gives you more safety info. I think my concerns over mighty-putty were unwarranted. Anyways, we sell it for like $20.00 per tube, which contains a 2 cm by 15 to 20 cm log of it.
Anyways, as useful as this would be for modeling and scratch builds, this Bond-aid stuff is absolutely useless when it comes to bonding to plastic, as I've discovered when trying to rebuild plastic switches and mounts.
