Re: Help with Storage/Moving/Packing

When I had to move a couple of years ago, Wal-Mart had the least expensive bubble wrap I could find -- huge rolls of it. Staples is good to check, as are moving/box stores.

I also totally second boxes within boxes, especially for figures that have strange shapes or have delicate protrusions -- wings, fins, whatever. Energon Megatron, for example. Also a good idea for bots with soft parts, like Vector Prime.

Most things are fine as long as you have some kind of cushion around it, whether it be bubble wrap or packing paper (uninked newsprint, available from moving supply places).

A cheap way to make your packing paper/bubble wrap go farther is to cover the bot with that, then do any further wrapping with newspaper.

Re: Help with Storage/Moving/Packing

You can use the store bins that fit under beds. They hold a fair bit and are shallow, which eliminates any amount of weight on any particular figure.

Re: Help with Storage/Moving/Packing

Alt mode is a must for just about everything. ANything that can come off should. Basically make the bots as small and tight as possible. Bubble wrap and careful planning of how you pack things are absolutely necessary.

Like was said above, if you go for shallower bins you are less likely to have squishing issues.

Also with the actual move, make sure you move this stuff yourself. Every time I have moved and had movers, my collection was one of the things I took over myself. It is not that I was worried the movers would take something. It was more that I wanted full responsibility should something happen. That way there was nobody to blame but myself.
