Re: Universe Classics worth
$40 avg? Maybe on ebay. Not through sales threads. Sure some guys will mark em up that high, but the majority still sell fairly reasonably, with a couple of the characters shooting up higher. In some areas Universe is still on shelves, ranging from $9-15. Try Sears, I've seen Prowls, Sunstreakers and Onslaughts still on shelves recently.

I'd hazard a guess and say he hasn't updated his Shmax account lately.

LMAO...I've given up on Shmax and I'm waiting for shelflife. As razin stated I haven't updated it in a long time.
Pics?? Really you're call me out? Bit of a douche manouver if you ask me. There are several local members that can atest to my collection.
I have almost all the generations and RTS figures. Universe 2.0 only have important figures to me and I stay away from the Japanese ones.
But ya voyager prime, treadbolt, jetfire, onslaught, silverbolt CHECK
Deluxe Bee, all the seekers (except skywarp), tankor, prime, megatron, sideswipe, hound, cyclones, cheetor, prowl, etc etc etc...Check.
Legends...only a couple
I'll about a pic for ya.

Re: Universe Classics worth
You should send Takara an angry letter demanding a United G1 Cliffjumper because I'm sick of looking at Classics CJ's paint job.

Re: Universe Classics worth
While I don't doubt that folks got some great deals here some of the vibe I'm getting from the topic seems a bit off.
I think someones going to have to be very patient and dedicated (and even lucky) to score figures like Mirage, Sideswipe and Ramjet for $10 each.
This has got to be the exception, not the norm.
I'd also suggest to the original poster to check out local toy shows like the Montreal Comic Con events for deals, though you would have to pay to get in.

Laserbeak is awesome though.

I can't get over the batteries hanging out the back. The whole thing just astounds me. They can make an absolutely astonishing G1 Soundwave that's only 2 inches tall and is even BETTER than the original, but god help them if they have to start from the ground up.
I've had my eye out for his Laserbeak cassette though. I can't remember... does it fit in G1 Soundwave?

Re: Soundwave remold?
I think the cassette for Titanium Soundwave is slightly smaller than the ones that worked with the original.

I agree that it's not the norm, but good deals come along more often than you'd think. I'm not suggesting he's going to find everything he's looking for at retail cost, but he shouldn't resign himself to paying the full markup price either. There's a happy medium if you're patient enough.
I finally found my Ramjet for $20 on TFW just last week. It's better than paying $60+ on Ebay.

I'm just glad at getting any CHUG figures for less than $30-40 now. And still trying to find a reasonable price for Skywarp (Last seeker I need from the main 6).
At least if the RTS and Generations lines are any indicators, it is that Has/Tak are still willing to reuse these old molds/characters, so who knows what they will come out with once Prime's had it's run.
