Re: Post in this thread for help to identify a Transformers toy
Hmm, just an idea here, but if the handle is off to the side, maybe it's meant to peg onto the side of something?

Ok, this question is late and totally off-topic but I've asked it before and never gotten a straight answer.
Does anyone else's Pan-Handler (blue backhoe minicon) have an upside down front end loader arm? The instructions say it should bend upwards, but mine bends downwards and it makes the shoulder work differently. Are the instructions just wrong, or are some of them on wrong?

Re: Post in this thread for help to identify a Transformers toy
I was selling this slag figure that I have had forever at TFCON for $15 bucks, his legs are a little loose but the rest if tight, great stickers, good chrome too and no one bought it. I was looking it over today and noticed that there is no Hasbro stamp on it, just takara 1980 -1984...is this a diaclone? I tried looking up diaclone online but all I find are swoop pages. Any help would be appreciated.

^looks like "canadian" slag to me.(red and white version,a bit harder to find nowadays)
the diaclone version has blue parts instead of red,and he also has white thighs/etc.

That stamp is common... a lot of the earlier 84/85 stuff came marked strictly Takara. For example, I have a Sideswipe and Red Alert in front of me and both say Takara 1980-1982.

If it were a Canadian version it would have a Red Face and Red Hands. Does have the correct White Legs so I'd assume its a Canadian lower half with a normal upper half. Or perhaps some came from the factory with White Legs but none of the Red pieces.

Re: Post in this thread for help to identify a Transformers toy
This ebay listing has both a diaclone and a Canadian slag if you want to see the differences:
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/G1-Transforme...#ht_989wt_1140
Seems like there are more variant dinobots than there are of some of the other figures, not sure why that is. I came across a "silver" snarl, for example.

Re: Post in this thread for help to identify a Transformers toy
Also, what's the deal with the feet being gold instead of silver? I've read everything under the sun about that, but I'm curious if anyone here knows what's really up.

Re: Post in this thread for help to identify a Transformers toy
the slag could possibly be one of the ol' two half bots make one whole bots surgery.
or like bruticus82 said, just more variants.

Re: Post in this thread for help to identify a Transformers toy
I never even noticed the gold feet before and I've had him for over 15 years now...I have never really looked at him. I was having another toy sale at my house and between customers I looked him over and saw the takara stamp and put him away. I have no idea what he is at all, diaclone, Canadian Slag variant who the hell knows?
