Re: Top 15 of 2015

Top 15!

I get a fair bit of 3rd party, which I consider as part of my collection, so I'll have one list for both official and unofficial.

MT Quantron, specifically #1Strafe and #2Nosecone
MT did a great job with this whole set. A bit of a gamble to release them all at the same time, but I'm really happy I picked up this set at TFCon from Kooltoyz. I think the set overall is my favourite pickup of the year, but special shoutouts to Strafe (super tight in all modes and looks badass) and Nosecone (love the head sculpt on this one and the transformation is really cool - a bit weak as a leg but he stands up)

#3FP Volar TF deco
Excited for the 3rd release of FP's dinobots, Volar (Swoop) in the blue is really nice and the chrome wings really stand out in the display case.

#4MMC Salvia Prominon
Not gonna lie, I wanted this for the Solus Forge. The bot is cool, but the, uh, thing mode (alt mode) isn't the greatest. Love the colours and the detail is amazing. If you want this figure, get this version.

#5MMC Cynicus
Not-Vos is the first of the DJD I have. Got Commotus and Anachus on the way from Automaton in 2016. Love MMC.

#6CW Hot Spot
Stand out for Hasbro here. Reasonably posed, versatile, and a great alt mode!

#7CW Defensor
A bit of a cheat, but the whole bot put together looks the best of the CW scramble-city style releases so far (Don't have Devy yet). Great set pickup from Automaton earlier this year.

#8MP Tracks
I don't buy many MPs, but Tracks is great as a car. Bot mode kind of falls apart, but looks good!

#9RID2015 Strongarm
Basic playability, durable, satisfying. All good things here. Overpriced at $20.

#10RID2015 Drift
I love the orange! The car design is also super strong and slick looking. Scale is way off from anything, but whatever. He's cool. Overpriced at $20.

#11CW Deadend (whatever his name was) - the proper member of the team was an exclusive release. Glad to have him.

#12FP Diesel
My first pickup of 2015. Looks amazing! Holy god what a mess to transform though. Panels and panels and flippy panels, and panels with panels. No playability here. Looks wicked though.

#13MBC002 Military Titans set for FOC Bruticus.
Basically it made my FOC Bruticus into a really awesome action figure. I am never taking that thing apart. Big improvement in my books as I can display it, but it's loose as all hell.

#14 generations Scoop
Pretty cool guy! Got him on a TRU sale for 10 bucks. Great deal.

#15 Generations Jhiaxus
A really worthwhile redux of the Armada SS. Really vibrant orange.

Looks like orange was the colour of 2015...

Deadend wasn't an exclusive, I think you mean Wildrider who got released with the name Brake-Neck. Same mold as Deadend though so I can see the confusion.

Love the grey altmode with popping red botmode bits. I love to pose him and Offroad together, they make a nifty pair of brothers.

Re: Top 15 of 2015

15?..yikes. That's lots. Here's mine:

1. UW Devastator
2. Takara Thundercracker

Lots of stuff I really liked, but these two I really REALLY liked. 2015 was a great year, but I'm having a tough time keeping it all straight as I amassed the majority of my MP collection in early Jan. I'll be better prepared in 2016, and there's still a bunch of MPs yet to come out. I don't think I'll be interested much in mainline stuff this year, but maybe some reissues will make me change my mind. CW was fun, but in the end I sold it all for UW. Let 2016 be the year I don't buy anything that requires re-selling!

Re: Top 15 of 2015

Redid my list with some explanations...

In no particular order...

-MT Chromedome: wicked transformation, good weight
-DX9 Rodimus Prime: wicked transformation, good weight
-FT Snarl: heavy as a brick
-UT Octane: wicked transformation, good weight
-XT Megatron: visually, an improvement over MP-05
-CW Devastator: best official combiners in years
-CW Ultra Magnus: very fun transformation, good sculpt
-FP Quickswitch: so much fun, better than MMC Sixshot
-MP Star Saber: loved the original, this is a good new version
-MP Tracks: my first Autobot car when I was a kid, this new version is pretty sexy
-FT Bombshell: die-cast
-FT Perceptor: die-cast, some interesting transformation twists for an otherwise uninteresting alt mode
-KFC Twincast: loooove the blue deco
-DX9 Astrotrain: wicked transformation, good weight
-TW Astrotrain: not really heavy, but the thing pulls off both alt mode awesomely

Honorable mentions:
-TAV-30 Optimus Prime
-RID Warrior Optimus Prime
-RID Warrior Megatronus
-RID Warrior Fracture

The last 3 have easy yet fun transformations.

Re: Top 15 of 2015

I wish I could remember what I purchased this year.

The FT Insection would be my number one, hands down, followed by the FT Dinobot. Apollyon isn't a favourite figure but it is epic just to have a Megatron on my shelf. Same goes for Hasbro Starscream. Looks great but not that exciting as a figure. Did Ultramagnus come out this year? If so then he'd be number two for sure.

Re: Top 15 of 2015

When you say Ultra Magnus is #2, what exactly do you mean?
