I too got most of my transformers from Sears and they did indeed have an awesome toy section back then. It often looked just like your image. Is it just me and my nostalgia goggles or is that old school packaging just more eye catching and interesting than the modern stuff?

Best clearance deals, from yesteryear, I remember was getting Jetfire for $15 at Eaton's, and SkyLynx for USD$15 at a clearance store in an outlet mall in Niagara Falls, NY.

Gosh... I think SkyLynx was the only TF my dad bought for me directly, without it being a special occasion (birthday/Christmas).

Ah, that makes more sense, with a Sunstreaker out of package, and Jazz and Ratchet missing interior bubble packaging, and a much-later-issued Powermaster(?) Prime sitting top-left.
